Aiming at the performance evaluation problem of tidal energy turbines in the application of periodic time-varying flow velocity, with the goal of maximizing the efficiency of energy harvesting in practical applications, an evaluation system combining the characteristics of flow velocity changes in practical applications is proposed. After long-term monitoring of tidal current flow velocity in the applied sea area, the actual measured tidal current periodic flow velocity is divided into several flow velocity segments by using statistical segmentation, and the evaluation flow velocity of each flow velocity segment and its time proportion in the tidal current cycle are obtained. A test device with constant torque regulation is built, and capture power tests of different torque loads are carried out under each evaluation flow rate. After comparison, the maximum captured power at each evaluation flow rate is determined. We calculate the weight based on the time proportion of each evaluation flow velocity and obtain the turbine average power of the tidal cycle, thereby evaluating the overall energy capture performance of the turbine under the periodic time-varying flow velocity. Finally, the application test of the turbine in the actual sea area shows that the thin-walled airfoil turbine is more suitable for the sea area, which is the same as the pool evaluation result. The result shows that the evaluation system is reliable and effective and has significance for guiding practical engineering.

Based on the 2-D tidal current and sediment model, the field of tidal current near the sea of the secondary Diaoliang reclamation in Zhoushan was simulated due to the construction of the southern dike. After the simulation , the result was varified by the measured data .The impact on the surrounding sea and the annual change in erosion and deposition after the project was analyzed. The results show that the local current velocity in the eastern side of Luomen sea area features obviously decrease because of the reclamation project.The deposition is presented in the Diaoliang bay with the mean siltation intensity of around 0.8m/a, as well as about 1.1m/a of Luomen wharf apron .

As the new urban core area and the center of Dalian, Pulandian Bay shoulder the mission of the coastal economic growth in Liaoning province. In view of the present urgent pollution situation in the coastal waters , the MIKE 21 Flow Model is used to build the two-dimensional tidal current field and replay the basic situation and the trend of variation of the bay. Model validation results show that the calculated values agree well with the measurement values, and the model can reflect the tidal current field of Pulandian Bay accurately. The numerical simulation results provide the scientific basis and basic data for the sea area construction and environmental protection.

Caofeidian harbor is a large size deep-water harbor currently under construction in the Bohai Bay, the eastern coast of north China. The construction began in 2003. The characteristics of tides and tidal currents in the Caofeidian area are analyzed with field data from comprehensive field observations from 2008 to 2010. The field observations and analysis show that the tide is the irregular semi-diurnal and tidal current is characterized as a type of reverse flow with moving west during flood tides and east during ebb tides. In general, the flood current is slightly stronger than the ebb current, and the strongest tidal current appears in the Caofeidian foreland, which is the predominant driving force to maintain the deep water depth.

The effect of the tidal residual flow on the horizontal diffusion in a shallow tidal bay is investigated through a hydraulic model experiment, for which Mikawa Bay in central Japan was used as a prototype. A hydraulic model of about 20 x 30 m including Mikawa Bay and neighboring sea area, with a horizontal and vertical scale of 1/2000 and 1/160 respectively, was used, and a semi-diurnal tide was provided for it. Experiments nave shown that tide and tidal current are well reproduced in the model. The tidal locus does not close, that means the existence of the residual flow. The distribution of the concentration of the dye, which is discharged from the bay bottom, corresponds to the pattern of the residual flow. The diffusion coefficient in the bay obtained through one dimensional analysis is the order of 10' cm2/sec and that through two dimensional analysis is less by one order and the dispersion coefficient becomes 105 cm2/sec. It is concluded that the dispersion due to the residual flow plays more important role on the distribution of the material in the shallow bay, as Mikawa Bay, than the diffusion due to the tidal current itself.

Based on the SCHISM ocean model, this paper constructs a numerical model of the Majishan sea area in Shengsi County, Zhoushan City, and numerically simulates the tidal and tidal current conditions in the sea area. The non-structural triangular elements are used to construct the high-precision nearshore terrain to accurately simulate the tidal and tidal conditions. Yearly measured tidal current data. Have a deeper understanding of the tidal currents in the Majishan sea area of Zhoushan. The results show that the Majishan sea area of Zhoushan belongs to regular shallow sea currents dominated by recurrent currents. In the actual measurement, the speed of the rising and falling tides varies, and the maximum and average flow speeds are both the high tide is greater than the medium tide and the small tide. The tidal changes are mainly controlled by the forward waves of the East China Sea, and the direction of the current is basically the same as the direction of the rising and falling tides.
