PurposeThe quest to discover optimal conditions or amounts has been carried out in many scientific disciplines and practical fields. In astrophysics, biology, medicine, psychology and education, the quest has resulted in finding the right amount of something, a desirable middle between extremes, a balance between conditions or the optimal state of a system. The results are referred to as the Goldilocks principle, which is based on the idea of being “just right”. The aim of our study was to find out if there are any measures in information search that could be identified as Goldilocks ranges.Design/methodology/approachWe conducted a user experiment in which 68 participants carried out a time-unlimited, topical search task involving finding relevant websites on the basis of which the participants were supposed to prepare a presentation on a given topic. We examined aspects of their search behavior.FindingsWe found that information search Goldilocks ranges can be identified for a length of a search session, number of relevant results, number of queries submitted and number of search engine results pages (SERPs) visited. This preliminary study has resulted in indicating the following dominant ranges: Number of relevant documents found: 5–8; Time spent searching: 21–35 min; Number of queries submitted: 3–7; Number of SERPs viewed: 1–3.Originality/valueTill now, no one has studied Goldilocks ranges in information retrieval. The Goldilocks ranges have some practical implications for improving the effectiveness of web searching.

Events occurring during the gestational period can influence the development of diseases and conditions such as obesity. This study aimed to analyze the association between events occurring in the gestational period and the occurrence of obesity in children based on dermatoglyphic traits. The sample comprised 73 children born in 2009, living in Palhoça, Santa Catarina (SC), Brazil, regularly enrolled in public and private schools in that municipality and who are participants of an ongoing major cohort study project called Coorte Brasil Sul. The results show predictive traits of obesity when comparing BMI and fingerprint groups. Obese male group, presented the figure Ulnar Loop (UL) in the right hand (MDT1) thumb and greater number of ridges in the (MDSQL1) right thumb the greater the BMI; likewise, the older the woman getting pregnant the greater the number of ridges that the child presented in the (MESQL2) left index finger and (MESQL1) right thumb. The results obtained infer the presence of predictive traits of BMI ranges and a possible association between the dermatoglyphic traits of children with obesity and late pregnancy women.

Abstract Background and study aims Failure to recognize the right direction and precise incision length during precutting has been reported. To address these concerns, we developed a marking method that places a marking on the cutting endpoint before starting precutting. This preliminary study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of precut sphincterotomy using our new marking method. Patients and methods Between April 2015 and May 2017, 21 patients from our tertiary referral center were included in this study. Precut sphincterotomy using our marking method was employed for difficult common bile duct cannulation cases. Before starting precutting, a marking was placed slightly before the upper margin of the bulge of the papilla in the 11- to 12-o’clock direction as a cutting endpoint by cauterization with a needle knife. Results Technical success was obtained in all 21 procedures. There were no post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) complications except for one mild case of post-ERCP pancreatitis. Conclusion Our new marking method before precutting enabled precise incision and quick bile duct cannulation without causing severe complications.

The present study deals with the preliminary evaluation of in vivo ciprofloxacin release from HAp-ciprofloxacin bone implants in rabbit tibia. The HAp-ciprofloxacin implants ( mm) were prepared using various HAp-ciprofloxacin composites synthesized by precipitation technique and 1.5% w/v guar gum as a binder. 5 implants were implanted in artificial cortical bone window at the right proximal tibia of each rabbit. After 3- and 6-day intervals, the rabbits were euthanized. Bone marrow and serum concentrations of ciprofloxacin were determined from the harvested tibia using HPLC method. The results displayed the availability of elevated local antibiotic concentration at the implanted site with the limitation of systemic antibiotic exposure, which can be useful to minimize the risk of systemic toxicity-related side effects. This study is the preliminary investigation of the suitability of in vivo ciprofloxacin release from HAp-ciprofloxacin bone implants in rabbit tibia, after implantation, and these implants can be useful for the treatment of bacterial bone infections like osteomyelitis.

Kata Kunci : Cara, Memandikan, Bayi, Ibu, Post Partum Abstract Bathing a baby has its own challenges for parents, especially if it is their first time having a baby. Not a few of them do not know how to bathe the baby so they give their baby to the caregiver or grandmother. Based on a preliminary study in Pajurangan Village, on September 2, 2019, there were 10 mothers who had babies aged 0-28 days. Obtained 4 mothers have been able to bathe their own babies, while 6 mothers have not dared to bathe their own babies because the umbilical cord has not been released and afraid later the baby will slip. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the correct way to bathe babies in post partum mothers in Pajurangan Village, Gending District, Probolinggo Regency. The research design used is analytic. This research was conducted on 1 September - 30 November 2019. The population of all mothers was 65. Sampling is a total sampling of 65 respondents. The measuring instrument uses a check list. From the results of the chi-square test with a system of 0,000 <0.05. Thus Ho refused, H1 was accepted, meaning that age, parity, education and husband / family support were factors that influenced the correct way of bathing a baby in a post partum mother. From this study midwives are expected to provide health education and training in how to bathe the right baby that can be done in the class of pregnant women or in counseling before returning from a health facility. Keywords: Method, Bathing, Baby, Mother, Post Partum

Purpose:To assess the effects of manipulating the loading of successive sets of midthigh clean pulls on the potentiation capabilities of 7 international-level US weightlifters (4 men, 3 women). Methods:Isometric and dynamic peak-force characteristics were measured with a force plate at 500 Hz. Velocity during dynamic pulls was measured using 2 potentiometers that were suspended from the top of the right and left sides of the testing system and attached to both ends of the bar. Five dynamic-performance trials were used (in the following order) as the potentiation protocol: women at 60, 80, 100, 120, and 80 kg and men at 60, 140, 180, 220, and 140 kg. Trials 2 vs 5 were specifically analyzed to assess potentiation capabilities. Isometric midthigh pulls were assessed for peak force and rate of force development. Dynamic lifts were assessed for peak force (PF), peak velocity (PV), peak power (PP), and rate of force development (RFD).Results:Although all values (PF, PV, PP, and RFD) were higher postpotentiation, the only statistically higher value was found for PV (ICCα = .95, P = .011, η2 = .69).Conclusions:Results suggest that manipulating set-loading configuration can result in a potentiation effect when heavily loaded sets are followed by a lighter set. This potentiation effect was primarily characterized by an increase in the PV in elite weightlifters.
