Video on Demand adalah salah satu layanan UseeTV IndiHome PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk berbasis IP (Internet Protocol).

Abstract Integration of Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) and WiMAX technologies is viewed as a great solution for next-generation broadband access networks. In the systems adopting this strategy, weighty bandwidth allocation schemes are fundamental to fulfil the quality of service (QoS) and fairness requirements of different traffic classes. Existing proposals to overcome the bandwidth allocation problem in EPON/WiMAX networks dismiss collaboration between the self-interested EPON and WiMAX service providers (WSPs). This study presents a novel EPON-based semi-dynamic bandwidth allocation (S-DBA) method that shows points of interest in the integration process. In the proposed algorithm depending on the auction process, the optical line terminal runs an auction to adequately post the optical network unit bandwidth that distributes the most elevated bidders based on the measurement of the accessible bandwidth. Simulation results demonstrate massive upgrades compared with fair sharing using dual-service-level agreements, ‘limited service’ interleaved polling with adaptive cycle time methods, bandwidth allocation strategy using Stackelberg game, and bandwidth allocation strategy using coalition game regarding the quality of service parameters such as throughput and time delay. This will be extremely helpful for optical system upgrading and improvement with minimal effort.

Passive optical network (PON) technologies have received increasing attention as demand for fibre access networks has grown. Enhancing fibre access network reliability provides lower operational costs, and improves customer satisfaction. This paper discusses PON survivability including protection schemes for the fiber link and the Optical Line Terminal (OLT), the exciting monitoring techniques of the fiber link, and the effect of reducing the restoration time on the network availability. The main contribution of this study is to provide two protection schemes namely OLT-only-protected and OLT-and-ring protected. The proposed schemes are designed to handle instances of single failure affecting all customers in the network. This work considers three key performance metrics- Failure Impact Robustness (FIR), cost, and availability. The objective of the proposed protection architectures is to guarantee high quality of service at low costs by protecting critical network elements such as OLT and fiber ring. The proposed architectures have been compared with other well-known protection schemes. The results postulate that OLT-and-ring protected approach has 99.993% availability with a 0.09% increase in cost compared to the ring-only protection architecture.

Abstract The rapid growth of the technologies, high bandwidth applications and cloud data centers consume heavy internet service. So, the consumer of the internet expects a high capacity medium for communication. The Elastic Optical Network (EON) provides a flexible and reliable transmission service for the consumers. The spectrum fragmentation is a key challenge in EON. In simple terms, unaligned Frequency Slots (FSs) in the network are referred to as fragmented spectrum, while in defragmentation, the available FSs need to be rearranged to create room for the new connection requests. The problem in defragmentation occurs due to the lack of a continuous spectrum and it leads to depreciation in spectrum usage and simultaneously increasing the Blocking Probability (BP) which disrupts the majority of the existing connections in the network. Several techniques and approaches were suggested to reduce the possibility of disruption and reconfiguration in the network while defragmenting the frequency slots. This paper proposes a new algorithm to overcome the drawbacks and improvement in the quality of service of the network. The proposed algorithm holds the approach of proactive and reactive along with the meta-heuristic nature-inspired optimization technique called Jellyfish Search Optimization (JSO). The proposed combination, PR-DF-JFSO outperforms well in terms of spectrum utilization, network efficiency, and quality of service offered when compared to the state-of-the-art spectrum defragmentation algorithms according to the results of experiments done using standard quality metrics.
