Model driven architecture (MDA) is an architecture specification of software development proposed by OMG in July 2001. MDA holds that the best way of software development is to enhance the level of abstraction of the system, isolate the design and implementation of the system, and separate the business conduct, so as to overcome the difficulties caused by the complexity of software. This paper presents the basic concept and core technology, and gives the software development process based on MDA.

[Context] The growing demand for high-quality software has caused the industry to incorporate processes to enable them to comply with these standards, but increasing the cost of development. A strategy to reduce this cost is to incorporate quality evaluations from early stages of software development. A technique that facilitates this evaluation is the model-based testing, which allows to generate test cases at early phases using as input the conceptual models of the system. [Objective] In this paper, we introduce TCGen, a tool that enables the automatic generation of abstract test cases starting from UML conceptual models. [Method] The design and implementation of TCGen, a technique that applies different testing criteria to class diagrams and state transition diagrams to generates test cases, is presented as a model-based testing approach. To do that, TCGen uses UML models, which are widely used at industry and a set of algorithms that recognize the concepts in the models in order to generate abstract test cases. [Results] An exploratory experimental evaluation has been performed to compare the TCGen tool with traditional testing. [Conclusions] Even though the exploratory evaluation shows promising results, it is necessary to perform more empirical evaluations in order to generalize the results. Abstract (in Spanish): [Contexto] La creciente demanda de software de alta calidad ha provocado que la industria incorpore procesos para permitirles cumplir con estos estándares, pero aumentando el costo del desarrollo. Una estrategia para reducir este costo es incorporar evaluaciones de calidad desde las primeras etapas del desarrollo del software. Una técnica que facilita esta evaluación es la prueba basada en modelos, que permite generar casos de prueba en fases tempranas utilizando como entrada los modelos conceptuales del sistema. [Objetivo] En este artículo, presentamos TCGen, una herramienta que permite la generación automática de casos de pruebas abstractas a partir de modelos conceptuales UML. [Método] El diseño e implementación de TCGen, una técnica que aplica diferentes criterios de prueba a los diagramas de clases y diagramas de transición de estados para generar casos de prueba, se presenta como un enfoque de prueba basado en modelos. Para hacer eso, TCGen utiliza modelos UML, que son ampliamente utilizados en la industria y un conjunto de algoritmos que reconocen los conceptos en los modelos para generar casos de prueba abstractos. [Resultados] Se realizó una evaluación experimental exploratoria para comparar la herramienta TCGen con las pruebas tradicionales. [Conclusiones] Aunque la evaluación exploratoria muestra resultados prometedores, es necesario realizar más evaluaciones empíricas para generalizar los resultados.

The proliferation of language and framework updates and the appearance of new ones has made the need for code generation tools an inescapable one. For this reason, many companies have started to invest in this area with the aim of perpetuating the sssknow-how.MDA-Model Driven Architecture- has enabled semi-automatic generation of code via models. The MOFM2T standard is independent of the generated language, but to date, no generator of Angular code from a UML diagram has never seen the light of day, the objective of this article is to propose a platform allowing from a class diagram to generate an operational application in Angular 7.

Use of Business Models within Model Driven Architecture Model Driven Architecture is a framework dedicated for development of large and complex computer systems. It states and implements the principle of architectural separation of concerns. This means that a system can be modeled from three different but related to each other viewpoints. The viewpoint discussed in this paper is a Computation Independent one. MDA specification states that a model that shows a system from this viewpoint is a business model. Taking into account transformations foreseen by MDA, it should be useful for automation of software development processes. This paper discusses an essence of the Computation Independent Model (CIM) and the place of business models in the computation independent modeling. This paper considers four types of business models, namely, SBVR, BPMN, use cases and Topological Functioning Model (TFM). Business persons use SBVR to define business vocabularies and business rules of the existing and planned domains, BPMN to define business processes of both existing and planned domains, and use cases to define business requirements to the planned domain. The TFM is used to define functionality of both existing and planned domains. This paper discusses their capabilities to be used as complete CIMs with formally defined conformity between planned and existing domains.

This paper introduces Learn-CIAM, a new model-based methodological approach for the design of flows and for the semi-automatic generation of tools in order to support collaborative learning tasks. The main objective of this work is to help professors by establishing a series of steps for the specification of their learning courses and the obtaining of collaborative tools to support certain learning activities (in particular, for in-group editing, searching and modeling). This paper presents a complete methodological framework, how it is supported conceptually and technologically, and an application example. So to guarantee the validity of the proposal, we also present some validation processes with potential designers and users from different profiles such as Education and Computer Science. The results seem to demonstrate a positive reception and acceptance, concluding that its application would facilitate the design of learning courses and the generation of collaborative learning tools for professionals of both profiles.
