The choice of best gestures and commands for touchless interfaces is a critical step that determines the user- satisfaction and overall efficiency of surgeon computer interaction. In this regard, usability metrics such as task completion time, error rate, and memorability have a long-standing as potential entities in determining the best gesture vocabulary. In addition, some previous works concerned with this problem have utilized qualitative measures to identify the best gesture. In this work, we hypothesize that there is a correlation between the qualitative properties of gestures (v) and their usability metrics (u). Therefore, we conducted an experiment with linguists to quantify the properties of the gestures. Next, a user study was conducted with surgeons, and the usability metrics were measured. Lastly, linear and non-linear regression techniques were used to find the correlations between u and v. Results show that usability metrics are correlated with the gestures’ qualitative properties ( R2 = 0.4).

This article proposes an impact-time-control guidance law that can keep a non-maneuvering moving target in the seeker’s field of view (FOV). For a moving target, the missile calculates a predicted intercept point (PIP), designates the PIP as a new virtual stationary target, and flies to the PIP at the desired impact time. The main contribution of the article is that the guidance law is designed to always lock onto the moving target by adjusting the guidance gain. The guidance law for the purpose is based on the backstepping control technique and designed to regulate the defined impact time error. In this procedure, the desired look angle, which is a virtual control, is designed not to violate the FOV limit, and the actual look angle of the missile is kept within the FOV by tracking the desired look angle. To validate the performance of the guidance law, numerical simulation is conducted with different impact times. The result shows that the proposed guidance law intercepts the moving target at the desired impact time maintaining the target lock-on condition.

Almost all project management software has lack of displaying the outcomes of projects as a feature. This is because there is no recognized way of calculating the actual project duration compared to the authorized project duration. Data were collected through a mixed method using a Critical Incident Technique (CIT) and a survey. The study finds that time error can occur throughout the project execution phase. Findings suggest that challenged projects could be successful or failed projects using a model of IT Project Outcomes Testing (MITPOT). Thus, this model establishes a foundation of Project End Theory (PET).
