Nowadays Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) has gradually become one of the representative techniques in the field of dynamic reactive power compensation in the power distribution system. This paper analyzed the topology and the voltage imbalance problem of the up and down capacitors on DC side of the three-phase four-wire STATCOM. In allusion to the imbalance problem of neutral point, a novel control strategy based on the control of zero-sequence current was proposed. By the triple close-loop control strategy, the STATCOM can achieve great control accuracy and dynamic performance. Simulation result proves that the proposed control method is effective.

This paper suggests an enhanced control scheme for a four-leg battery energy storage systems (BESS) under unbalanced and nonlinear load conditions operating in the isolated microgrid. Simplicity, tiny steady-state error, fast transient response, and low total harmonic distortion (THD) are the main advantages of the method. Firstly, a new decoupled per-phase model for the three-phase four-leg inverter is presented. It can eliminate the effect of power stage coupling on control design; thus, the three-phase four-leg power inverter can be viewed as three single input single output (SISO) control systems. Then, using an improved orthogonal signal generation method, the per-phase model of the four-leg inverter in the stationary and synchronous frame is derived. As the second step, a per-phase multi-loop control scheme for the four-leg inverter under unbalanced load conditions is suggested. The proposed control strategy has the ability to provide balanced output voltages under unbalanced load conditions by avoiding the need to deal with the symmetrical components. Finally, a multi-resonant harmonic compensator is used to actively prevent low-order harmonic currents to distort the output voltages of the three-phase four-leg grid-forming power converter. Simulations results are also presented to verify the performance of the suggested control strategy.

Firstly the research situation for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) is introduced, then, the engineering mathematical model of PV cells is introduced. The perturbation and observation algorithm is chosen as the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm. The SPWM double-loop control strategy with outer voltage loop and inner current loop is described and a three-phase grid-connected photovoltaic model is established. The simulation results demonstrate the validity and correctness of the simulation model built in this paper.

Renewable energy sources (RESs) generally connected with electric power system via power electronic interface. This paper presents a reactive power and voltage (Q/V) control strategy of three-phase photovoltaic (PV) system to offering reactive power based on the typical dual-loop control topology. It is worth mentioning that control strategy can support reactive power when a low voltage fault occurs in AC bus without additional compensation device. With the help of the decoupling control, the PV array can generate active power as much as possible in variable external solar radiation conditions. The voltage of PV arrays is adopted as the objective, which on account of the easy availability and controllability of voltage, to control output active power. Besides, accurately modeling process from a PV cell to PV array is described in the beginning to acquire the P-V and V-I characteristics of PV arrays, which promote the designment of Q/V control.

Abstract The traditional proportional integral (PI) controller in photovoltaic three-phase inverter system has the problems of no static error tracking and poor resonance suppression effect. In order to improve the resonance suppression effect and current control effect of photovoltaic three-phase inverter system, a control strategy of photovoltaic three-phase inverter system based on PI and quasi proportional resonance (QPR) double closed-loop control is proposed. The control strategy and control block diagram based on PI and QPR double closed-loop control are designed to realize no static error tracking of incoming current, which has better waveform of incoming current and resonance suppression effect, and improves system stability. Finally, the effectiveness of the control strategy are verified by simulation.

This paper proposes a control strategy, based on the grid voltage oriented vector control (VOC), which makes three-phase inverter control the active and reactive power of grid-connected inverter under the premise of the direct current control. This paper analyzes the principle of three phase photovoltaic grid connected inverter and describes the control structure of the inverter. The control strategy can overcome the deficiencies of the indirect current control scheme. This paper designs the current closed-loop control system, which not only improve the system dynamic response speed and output current waveform quality, while also reduce its sensitivity to parameter changes to improve the robustness of the system. The simulation results show the validity of control strategy proposed.
