The rising demands for a sustainable energy system have stimulated global interests in renewable energy sources. Wind is the fastest growing and promising source of renewable power generation globally. The inclusion of wind power into the electric grid can severely impact the monetary cost, stability and quality of the grid network due to the erratic nature of wind. Power electronics technology can enable optimum performance of the wind power generation system, transferring suitable and applicable energy to the electricity grid. Power electronics can be used for smooth transfer of wind energy to electricity grid but the technology for wind turbines is influenced by the type of generator employed, the energy demand and the grid requirements. This paper investigates the constraints and standards of wind energy conversion technology and the enabling power electronic technology for integration to electricity grid.

Aiming at maximum wind power tracking control problem of wind power generation system below the rated wind speed, this paper presents an improved MPPT control strategy by using turbulent part of the wind speed as a search signal to find the maximum power point. By using the Matlab/Simulink simulation of the wind power generation system below the rated wind speed, this paper proves the effectiveness of this control strategy. The simulation results show that improved MPPT control strategy can well control the wind turbine speed to track the wind speed changes to maintain optimum tip speed ratio and the maximum power coefficient.

The fluctuation, intermittence and uncertain are the characteristics of wind energy which cause wind energy output power fluctuation, so the wind power generation system was a typical nonlinear system, which was hard to be controlled exactly by traditional controllers, so, the feedback linearization control was applied to wind power generation system (WPGS) in mechanical engineering, which was to reduce the cost of wind energy conversion system and improve its performance. Feedback linearization control contains coordinate transformation, Lie derivative solving, and inverse coordinate transformation module, the control strategy was proposed. The WPGS model was constructed under MATLAB platform, with feedback linearization control theory based on differential geometry, the coordinated transformation and nonlinear state feedback were obtained. the simulation parameters was designed and the simulation result shows the control model was stable and direct feedback linearization control with higher tracking performance, which can effectively implement maximum energy capture.

Wind energy is a less-attended renewable energy due to the lack of information about its potential. Some pilot wind turbines were not managed properly and built without considering to the technical feasibility. This study aims to propose a preliminary design of an Arduino-based small wind power generation system. The electricity which is generated by the wind charges the battery. It supplies power of information system which transmits the data of wind speed and wind direction from the remote location to the web server through GPRS network. The remote location which is completed with mobile data coverage is essential for this study. The results of this study are (1) the battery charging stop automatically when the battery is full (2) the data of wind speed and wind direction can be accessed through web browser or Android Smartphone. The data can be used for further analysis to determine the potential of wind energy at the site.

With the development of economy, the energy demand is becoming bigger and bigger, the development of wind energy is one of the main ways to solve energy crisis. In terms of energy utilization, high power wind power connected to the grid is currently one of the most effective ways of wind energy utilization. The wind power generation system connected to the grid plays the role of the changing wind energy into mechanical energy by wind turbines, and then converts mechanical energy into electrical energy by a generator. Because CSCF wind turbine works with the gearbox, which is low efficiency, noise and mechanical loss. And it has not been able to meet the needs of the times. Therefore, the direct drive wind power technology capable of tracking the maximal power point of wind power at rated wind speed has become one of the hot spots in the present research. This paper introduces the converter of the direct drive wind power system and analyzes the working principle of the direct driven permanent magnet synchronous wind power system.

Renewable energy ship was regarded as one of the ship energy technologies with a good prospect. In order to study the application of solar and wind energy on ships in the marine environment and the impact of ship rolling on the system, the feasibility of applying solar energy and wind energy to ships was analyzed, and the structural composition of ship power system incorporating renewable energy source was studied. The model of the ship power system integrated with renewable energy was built in PSCAD/EMTDC simulation software. The layout of wind power generation system and photovoltaic power generation system was given for the actual ship, and the ship parameters and specific parameters of each simulation module were determined. It can be seen that the rolling of ship will cause fluctuations in the grid-connected power of the photovoltaic power generation system and the wind power generation system from the comparison of the simulation curves. Finally, a simulation experiment is provided to prove the access of the battery can well suppress the grid-connected power fluctuation caused by the rolling of the ship, which has an important impact on the stability of the ship power system with renewable energy.

With the rapid development of the global economy, wind power generation has attracted wide attention all over the world. With the rapid development of all kinds of new energy in the world, wind power generation has a huge international market and broad prospects for development. Based on the actual situation of the local wind power generation project in a city, this paper analyses the feasibility of the wind power generation system in the local area. According to the type selection and arrangement of various types of wind motors, a reasonable electrical wiring part is designed. The research shows that wind power is of high comprehensive value. Wind power plants can be built in areas with suitable geographical conditions and sufficient wind energy. After the completion of the above power generation projects, the advantage of local wind energy resources will be fundamentally changed into economic advantage.

The feedback linearization control was applied to wind power generation system (WPGS), which was to reduce the cost of wind energy conversion system and improve its performance. The WPGS model was constructed with mathematical models of aerodynamics subsystem, drive train subsystem and permanent magnetic synchronous generator (PMSG) subsystem. The feedback linearization control rule was proposed, with feedback linearization control theory based on differential geometry, the coordinated transformation and nonlinear state feedback were obtained. The system was constructed with MATLAB/Simulink platform, the model and control strategy was adopted and the simulation result shows this method can realized optimal power control, which has maximum energy capture ability.
