A phased array radar has been developed toward an effective means for integrating multiple functionalities into one radar platform. The radar system necessitates the ability to operate at multiple frequencies simultaneously. In this paper, a triple-band uniform radial sub-array using a shared aperture antenna is proposed for a multi-functional radar system. An efficient placement of different radiating elements is realized based on the radial displacement of the circular array. In addition, multi-layer feed networks are used to reduce the intricacy of integrating several feed networks into one antenna. The reasonable matching characteristics and far-field gain are acquired at the S-band, C-band, and X-band. The measured results of the prototype are presented, and the results are compared to the simulation, which showed a good agreement.

The application of X-Band Polarimetric radar (X-Band MP radar) is very effective in disaster risk management which can help professional, researchers, private and government agencies to take actions for rainfall-related disaster preparedness and prevention activities. This needs dissemination of rainfall radar data and information for developing the methods, models and applications. With the emerging Internet technologies, many web-based systems are used as a fundamental platform for gathering, processing and delivering the data or information in many fields. This paper is aimed to recognize the requirements of a web-based framework for rainfall estimation system by using X-Band MP radar. Through the systematic approach, three requirements for the proposed architecture are identified, which are the source of rainfall data, the technology involved in the system development and the features of web-based system. Those requirements are represent the whole concept of X-Band MP radar system for Malaysia. Based on the outcome of this study, a web-based system framework is proposed and the prototype of the proposed system will be developed.

Coded-aperture antenna plays an important role in terahertz coded-aperture imaging radar system. However, the performance of a system is inevitably affected by the phase errors introduced by the coded-aperture antenna elements. In this paper, we propose a phase error compensation method by deducing a formula to compute all element phase errors accurately. According to the formula, the phase errors can be calibrated by using a calibrator and can be used to compensate the imaging model of the system. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively improve the imaging quality when the elemental phase error exceeds 10 ∘ .
