One major topic in the research of path planning of autonomous mobile robots is the fast and efficient coverage of a given terrain. For this purpose, an efficient method for covering a given workspace is proposed, based on chaotic path planning. The method is based on a chaotic pseudo random bit generator that is generated using a modified logistic map, which is used to generate a chaotic motion pattern. This is then combined with an inverse pheromone approach in order to reduce the number of revisits in each cell. The simulated robot under study has the capability to move in four or eight directions. From extensive simulations performed in Matlab, it is derived that motion in eight directions gives superior results. Especially, with the inclusion of pheromone, the coverage percentage can significantly be increased, leading to better performance.

Block ciphers are used to protect data in information systems from being leaked to unauthorized people. One of many block cipher algorithms developed by Indonesian researchers is the BCF (Block Cipher-Four) - a block cipher with 128-bit input/output that can accept 128-bit, 192-bit, or 256-bit keys. The BCF algorithm can be used in embedded systems that require fast BCF implementation. In this study, the design and implementation of the BCF engine were carried out on the FPGA DE2. It is the first research on BCF implementation in FPGA. The operations of the BCF machine were controlled by Nios II as the host processor. Our experiments showed that the BCF engine could compute 2,847 times faster than a BFC implementation using only Nios II / e. Our contribution presents the description of new block cipher BCF and the first implementation of it on FPGA using an efficient method.

Purpose To provide an overview of communication characteristics exhibited by individuals with Angelman Syndrome (AS) and special considerations associated with the design and implementation of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) programs. Method Results of recent studies exploring individuals' uses of AAC are reviewed, with particular emphasis on factors related to individuals' acceptance and successful uses of AAC systems. Results Not applicable Conclusion Despite their inconsistent access to practices previously found to foster individuals' acceptance of AAC systems, individuals with AS demonstrate the ability to use AAC systems, including high-tech AAC devices, successfully.
