The different design trajectories have been analyzed in the design space on the basis of the new system design methodology. Optimal position of the design algorithm start point was analyzed to minimize the CPU time. The initial point selection has been done on the basis of the before discovered acceleration effect of the system design process. The geometrical dividing surface was defined and analyzed to obtain the optimal position of the algorithm start point. The numerical results of the design of passive and active nonlinear electronic circuits confirm the possibility of the optimal selection of the starting point of the design algorithm.

The article presents the research aimed at improving the efficiency of the diesel engines running. The advantages and disadvantages of the existing systems of the starter starting systems of diesel locomotives are considered. Brainstorming ideas on the issue of the calculation and selection of the alternative circuitry power circuit pulse converter starting system of diesel engines are described in the paper. An example of calculating the regulating characteristics of the pulse converter and the efficiency of the proposed circuit design is reported.

This paper presents a simulation study of electromagnetic circuit design for a mixed mode Magnetorheological (MR) damper. The magnetic field generated by electromagnetic circuit of the MR damper was simulated using Finite Element Method Magnetics (FEMM) software package. All aspects of geometry parameters were considered and adjusted efficiently in order to obtain the best MR damper performance. Eventually, six different parameters approach were proposed; the selection of materials, the polarity of coils, the diameter of piston, piston rod and core, the shear and squeeze gaps clearance, the piston pole length and the thickness of housing.

New switching power supply gradually replaced the traditional linear power supply, but rarely has the operational status monitoring function. The design includes the main power supply and monitoring circuit design. The main circuit topology of the power supply is flyback DC-DC conversion body. The selection of the control circuit is current-controlled PWM chip. The monitoring circuit includes the design of detection and display circuit. The voltage and the current are detected respectively with the aid of the resistive subdivision in the testing circuit. The display circuit adopts PIC for sampling signal processing, and the dot matrix LCD12864 is used to display this power operating parameters. The power supply control system is simulated in Saber and Proteus software which monitors and observes the various parts of the circuit voltage and the output waveform. Finally, the hardware circuit is built and tested to prove the designed digital intelligent power feasibility.

Abstract Some of the foundations of Heyes’ radical reasoning seem to be based on a fractional selection of available evidence. Using an ethological perspective, we argue against Heyes’ rapid dismissal of innate cognitive instincts. Heyes’ use of fMRI studies of literacy to claim that culture assembles pieces of mental technology seems an example of incorrect reverse inferences and overlap theories pervasive in cognitive neuroscience.

The first question to be answered, in seeking coordinate systems for geodynamics, is: what is geodynamics? The answer is, of course, that geodynamics is that part of geophysics which is concerned with movements of the Earth, as opposed to geostatics which is the physics of the stationary Earth. But as far as we know, there is no stationary Earth – epur sic monere. So geodynamics is actually coextensive with geophysics, and coordinate systems suitable for the one should be suitable for the other. At the present time, there are not many coordinate systems, if any, that can be identified with a static Earth. Certainly the only coordinate of aeronomic (atmospheric) interest is the height, and this is usually either as geodynamic height or as pressure. In oceanology, the most important coordinate is depth, and this, like heights in the atmosphere, is expressed as metric depth from mean sea level, as geodynamic depth, or as pressure. Only for the earth do we find “static” systems in use, ana even here there is real question as to whether the systems are dynamic or static. So it would seem that our answer to the question, of what kind, of coordinate systems are we seeking, must be that we are looking for the same systems as are used in geophysics, and these systems are dynamic in nature already – that is, their definition involvestime.

SummaryA routine has been developed for the processing of the 5820 plates of the survey. The plates are measured on the automatic measuring machine, GALAXY, and the measures are subsequently processed by computer, to edit and then refer them to the SAO catalogue. A start has been made on measuring the plates, but the final selection of stars to be made is still a matter for discussion.
