Telemedicine has become an increasingly important part of the modern healthcare infrastructure, especially in the present situation with the COVID-19 pandemics. Many cloud platforms have been used intensively for Telemedicine. The most popular ones include PubNub, Amazon Web Service, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. One of the crucial challenges of telemedicine is the real-time application monitoring for the vital sign. The commercial platform is, by far, not suitable for real-time applications. The alternative is to design a web-based application exploiting Web Socket. This research paper concerns the real-time six-parameter vital-sign monitoring using a web-based application. The six vital-sign parameters are electrocardiogram, temperature, plethysmogram, percent saturation oxygen, blood pressure and heart rate. The six vital-sign parameters were encoded in a web server site and sent to a client site upon logging on. The encoded parameters were then decoded into six vital sign signals. Our proposed multi-parameter vital-sign telemedicine system using Web Socket has successfully remotely monitored the six-parameter vital signs on 4G mobile network with a latency of less than 5 milliseconds.

Security in web-based systems that handle confidential information can be considered a particularly sensitive subject that requires assuming some responsibilities about security. Achieving a secure web application involves tackling several issues such encryption of traffic and certain database information, strictly restricted access control, etc. In this work we focus on detecting misuse of the web application in order to gain unauthorised access. We introduce an Intrusion Detection component that by applying Text Categorisation is capable of learning the characteristics of both normal and malicious user behaviour from the regular, high-level log entries generated by web application through its application server. Therefore, the detection of misuse in the web application is achieved without the need of explicit programming or modification of the existing web application. We applied our Intrusion Detection component to a real web-based telemedicine system in order to offer some evaluation measurements. This articles offers an overview of the model, our experiences, and observations.

This study proposes a hybrid technique in securing image data that will be applied in telemedicine in future. Based on the web-based ENT diagnosis system using Virtual Hospital Server (VHS), patients are able to submit their physiological signals and multimedia data through the internet. In telemedicine system, image data need more secure to protect data patients in web. Cryptography and steganography are techniques that can be used to secure image data implementation. In this study, steganography method has been applied using hybrid between Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Slantlet Transform (SLT) technique. DCT is calculated on blocks of independent pixels, a coding error causes discontinuity between blocks resulting in annoying blocking artifact. While SLT applies on entire image and offers better energy compaction compare to DCT without any blocking artifact. Furthermore, SLT splits component into numerous frequency bands called sub bands or octave bands. It is known that SLT is a better than DWT based scheme and better time localization. Weakness of DCT is eliminated by SLT that employ an improved version of the usual Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Some comparison of technique is included in this study to show the capability of the hybrid SLT and DCT. Experimental results show that optimum imperceptibility is achieved.
