In this study, we introduce a new category of neurofuzzy networks – Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks and develop a comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of genetic optimization, and genetic algorithms, in particular. The augmented genetically optimized FPNN (referred to as gFPNN) is a structurally optimized architecture which comes with a higher level of flexibility in comparison to the one we have encountered in the conventional FPNN. The GA-based design procedure being applied to each layer of FPNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes (or FPNs) available within the FPNN. In the sequel, two general optimization mechanisms are explored. First, the structural optimization is realized via GAs whereas for the ensuing detailed parametric optimization is carried out in the setting of a standard least square method-based learning. The performance of the gFPNN is quantified through experimentation where we use a number of modeling benchmarks – synthetic and experimental data already experimented with in fuzzy or neurofuzzy modeling.

It was a key procedure that the location selection of airport should be scientific and reasonable; this may make a great contribution towards the regional economic environment and also be very important to the construction of comprehensive transport system. So evaluation index system of the location selection of airport was based on technical indicators, economics, environmental impact and social significance. Experts adopted the weighted least-square method (WLSM) to calculate the weight of index. The linguistic variables figures were used to translate evaluation indexes from qualitative to quantitative, then the evaluation indexes of decision matrix was pooled and integrated. TOPSIS was introduced into this paper which can calculate the distance between two triangular fuzzy numbers. By calculating the distances to both the fuzzy positive-ideal solution and fuzzy negative-ideal solution synchronously, the degree of closeness was defined to estimate the ranking order of all alternatives. The scientific foundation for the decision-making of the location selection of airport had been provided by this mode.

The evaluation and selection of Search And Rescue (SAR) schemes is one of the most important decision issues for maritime SAR. Owing to vague concept frequently represented in decision data, a group fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approach is proposed to solve the SAR scheme optimal selection problem. In the proposed method, the experts’ opinions are described by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, and the fuzzy Delphi method is adopted to adjust each expert’s opinion to achieve the consensus condition. By using the logarithmic least square method and trapezoidal fuzzy number arithmetic operations to estimate the normalized fuzzy priority weights, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is presented and consequently the consistency check of fuzzy judgment matrix is avoided. The results of simulation show that the method is flexible and credible and provides references in intelligent SAR decision-making.

Present study like to examine the variables that are significant, in the selection of offshore outsourcing locations for the voice based jobs in India and Philippines. The study has statistically tested human resources factors, finance factors, national level factors, communication, language, culture, client and service provider relationship, service delivery, organizations credentials and regulatory environment. The study has used descriptive research design, survey questionnaire method and deliberative purposive sampling techniques on the total sample size of 178 top and middle level employees of BPOs and Call centres. Data were analyzed using structure equation modeling, multiple regression, weighted least square method and Path analysis. Results of the study shows, overall affects of above discussed factor variables on the selection of location as Philippines are more than choosing India as preference of location for voice based jobs.

A concept of a kidney uptake coefficient (UC) of 131I-o-hippurate was developed by analogy from the corresponding kidney clearance of blood plasma in the early period after injection of the hippurate. The UC for each kidney was defined as the count-rate over its ROI at a time shorter than the peak in the renoscintigraphic curve divided by the integral of the count-rate curve over the "blood"-ROI. A procedure for normalization of both curves against each other was also developed. The total kidney clearance of the hippurate was determined from the function of plasma activity concentration vs. time after a single injection; the determinations were made at 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 min after intravenous administration of 131I-o-hippurate and the best-fit curve was obtained by means of the least-square method. When the UC was related to the absolute value of the clearance a positive linear correlation was found (r = 0.922, ρ > 0.99). Using this regression equation the clearance could be estimated in reverse from the uptake coefficient calculated solely on the basis of the renoscintigraphic curves without blood sampling. The errors of the estimate are compatible with the requirement of a fast appraisal of renal function for purposes of clinical diagknosis.

In this study, two-phase asymmetric peristaltic Carreau-Yasuda nanofluid flow in a vertical and tapered wavy channel is demonstrated and the mixed heat transfer analysis is considered for it. For the modeling, two-phase method is considered to be able to study the nanoparticles concentration as a separate phase. Also it is assumed that peristaltic waves travel along X-axis at a constant speed, c. Furthermore, constant temperatures and constant nanoparticle concentrations are considered for both, left and right walls. This study aims at an analytical solution of the problem by means of least square method (LSM) using the Maple 15.0 mathematical software. Numerical outcomes will be compared. Finally, the effects of most important parameters (Weissenberg number, Prandtl number, Brownian motion parameter, thermophoresis parameter, local temperature and nanoparticle Grashof numbers) on the velocities, temperature and nanoparticles concentration functions are presented. As an important outcome, on the left side of the channel, increasing the Grashof numbers leads to a reduction in velocity profiles, while on the right side, it is the other way around.
