The development of sustainable model of aquaculture by applying Sato Umi concept within coastal area of Indonesia has expanded from the center of first experiment in the northern coastal area of west Java to central Java (western Indonesia) and Bantaeng in the South Sulawesi of central Indonesia. The similar program has also been proposed for Maluku Province in the eastern part of Indonesia. In the next 5 years, Indonesia is developing the Techno Parks Program in some areas, in which aquaculture and fisheries activities development on the base of Sato Umi concept in the coastal area are involves in this program. The development of Techno Parks are directed as a center application of technology to stimulate the economy in the regency, and a place of training, apprenticeship, technology dissemination center, and center business advocacy for the public. Hopely, Sato Umi concept that has a similar spirit with Techno Park can be applied to support the implementation of Techno Park program in Indonesia

The primary purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an exercise program on physical fitness, psychosocial factors, and symptoms in two men with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). An interventional case study research design was used to collect data on physical fitness, psychosocial factors, and symptoms at intervals throughout a 14-month period. Raw scores and raw score averages, devoid of statistical manipulation, are presented to display real individual results. The secondary purpose of the study was to discuss how these two men tolerated the program in comparison to women in a similar program. This is important because data on men with FMS appear to be unavailable, because the greater majority of participants in FMS programs are women. Results support that these two men benefited from the program and that differences between men and women with FMS should be considered relative to the conduct of exercise programs for these groups.

The lack of meaningful interaction between domestic and international students is a persistent concern in international higher education. Conversation partner programs are a promising measure to promote the rich and repeated contact necessary for the development of intercultural relationships and communication skills. This article describes the process of launching and managing a successful student-coordinated conversation partner program with no or minimal funding. The five core team members (two faculty advisors and three student leaders) explain why they created or joined the program, their responsibilities, what worked, what was challenging, and what they recommend should other institutions want to start a similar program.

Universities in sub-Saharan Africa currently struggle to maintain adequate faculty and resources to take on Ph.D. candidates. Expanding enrolment in recent decades has not been met with improvements in university facilities, and neglect from development agencies has made it difficult for the higher education sector to meet the demands of the knowledge economy. As a result African graduate students have few opportunities to pursue postgraduate study in the region and sub-Saharan Africa’s brain drain persists. In order to address the lack of opportunity for graduate study, the Professors without Borders program has been developed. Professors without Borders is a mentorship program, whereby graduate students in sub-Saharan Africa are partnered with professors and academics at universities in industrialized nations and the students are mentored during the course of their degree. The program aims to promote internationalization among universities as well as facilitate development. This report examines the motivation behind the program and its potential for success. The literature review on higher education in sub-Saharan African summarizes the problems facing the sector but indicates the potential for higher education to contribute to economic growth. In addition, the reception of the Professors without Borders idea among African universities indicates unanimously that such a mentorship program would be very much welcomed and beneficial to African Ph.D. students. The experience of a similar program known as BrainRetain by the Irish-Africa Partnership provides insight into the challenges and logistics of making such a mentorship program successful and sustainable.

Looking at collegiate esports, the space is filled with a diverse array of programs growing at different rates and all finding legitimacy and recognition in different ways. However, many programs are faced with a specific tension between the flexibility of a grassroots club and the rigidity of university organization. This chapter will look at one particular program at the University of New Mexico and how it has been navigating its own identity as an affinity space and how its growth into something more may have unintended consequences that should be considered for any similar program. Specifically, the chapter will focus on what it means to be an affinity space, how UNM esports fits into that category, and what gets lost when attempting to integrate with different institutional-level structures.

A generalized description is given of the program COSMOS for the least squares adjustment of mixed survey data in terms of geographical coordinates. A comparison is made with GROOM, a program that COSMOS is designed to replace. Some limitations of the program, the form of input and output and the operations performed in each phase are described. Brief mention is made of a similar program designed for the adjustment of plane survey data in terms of rectangular coordinates.

In the next 45 years it is estimated that individuals aged 65 and older will increase by 93% in the United States. This population will require a reexamination in thinking related to what retirement is and how seniors desire to maintain their quality of life. Thus, with this demographic shift, new career opportunities will be available for students in older adult fitness, and kinesiology graduates can be at the forefront of providing physical activity to promote public health. Through the exploration of an off-campus clinical exercise gerontology experience at Northern Illinois University, specifics of the program and potential barriers are discussed, with an eye toward assisting other institutions that wish to begin/enhance a similar program. Finally, benefits and future opportunities are highlighted showing how this partnership has led to an improved quality of life for seniors and strengthened relationships with the larger community.

This paper focuses on the use of the social network Instagram to provide supplementary English language learning material to learners from Arabic speaking countries. The author was able to use his online account in Instagram to assess the needs of these learners through data analyses. The content made specific to Arabic speakers by offering translation in each post from English into Arabic and vice versa to foster their interest in the English language. The account was followed by more than 48000 learners. The study aimed to comprehend how Arab learners promote the process of learning English language via the use of the social network Instagram. The study found that Arab learners do not like complicated, lengthy information and, instead, prefer simple, brief explanations related to the English language. The results of this study suggest that a similar program of offering English lessons on Instagram in the future would have an even greater following if only simplified content was offered.

The leadership of the surgical community is actively engaged in improving the preparation of incoming residents to assume responsibility and accountability for key elements of care and stewardship. To better prepare for this transition, it is essential that all matriculants to surgery residency successfully complete a preparatory course of blended learning that specifically addresses essential components of quality care and patient safety before the start of their training. A national multidimensional curriculum, along with objective assessment tools, has been developed to accelerate readiness, responsibility, and accountability during the transition from medical school to surgery residency. We strongly endorse this effort and encourage medical schools to adopt this or a similar program. We stand ready to assist medical schools and medical students in implementation of this important initiative.

The author examines the utilization of a standardized parent-training program, Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP), in an isolated community in the Appalachian mountains where domestic and societal violence widely occurs. Based on the experiences of the parent educator and parents participating in the training, the STEP program is adapted to address the sociocultural context of child rearing according to an ecological model of child-abuse prevention. Recommendations are offered for implementation of a similar program in other environments in which violence is prevalent.
