Supply chain management is a multi-level, multi-objective system engineering. With the continuous development of supply chain for the survival in the market environment, the core task of supply chain management is also changing, Enterprises will face the new environment of e-commerce with the implementation of supply chain management. E-commerce create new opportunities for the supply chain management. Meanwhile, it also presents new challenges to the supply chain management. So, SCE must make the corresponding adjustment and reconstruction according to the E-commerce environment. This paper discussed the steps of supply chain design based on e-commerce environment. The purpose of this is to maximize the efficiency of logistics, information flow and capital flow and to achieve the ideal supply chain finally.

Over the past decades, digital technologies empowered more efficient, effective and connected supply chains. However, as supply chain complexity continues to increase, organizations face new challenges of maintaining visibility into origin, authenticity, and asset handling. Blockchain technology is considered to be a game-changer for decentralizing infrastructure and building a trust layer for business logic. It is envisioned to be a technology that could drive economy into the next industrial revolution, with new paradigms for doing business in supply chain management (SCM). In this chapter, the various opportunities blockchain provides for SCM, as well as the main technologies including infrastructure and services are discussed. The main applications and benefits of blockchain for SCM are described including smart contracts, payments, transaction recording, dispute resolution, monitoring, and security. We also introduce the multi-layered and cloud-based hybrid blockchain model that combines various data sources, integration, blockchain, and security services.

Today’s global economy requires that companies and their supply chains become more agile and lean to address the changing customers’ requirements and market. A global customer-oriented supply chain network cannot be successful without agility and co-evolution. The literature on design, operation, evolution, and agile management of supply chains for such an economy is growing rapidly. However, existing research does not seem to reflect the co-evolutions of different segments of supply chains. This chapter sheds light on the concept of co-evolution and its application in supply chain management, as well as how it can contribute to creating value for all customers. It is worth mentioning that co-evolution and agility are ongoing processes. As technology changes and market varies, new challenges in terms of agility appear and companies should address them and modify their approach accordingly.

The paper studies through the lens of the economic theory of the firm the development of two managerial disciplines: supply chain management and relationship marketing. The author demonstrates which ideas have been borrowed by these disciplines from the economic theory of the firm, and in what extent their implications may be useful for the latter.
