The load sharing characteristics of the herringbone planetary transmission system are a key indicator for evaluating the bearing stability and reliability of each planet gear in the transmission system. The value of the load sharing coefficient is closely related to the manufacturing error and the assembly error in gear processing and assembly process. Therefore, it is indispensable to study the influence mechanism of these errors on the load sharing characteristics of the transmission system. Nevertheless, researches on the multi-coupling transmission error to the load sharing characteristics of herringbone planetary transmission system did not receive enough attention, but much of the single errors. Based on the centralized parameters theory and the Lagrange method, this research establishes a dynamic model for herringbone planetary transmission system and creatively proposes a study of multi-coupling error which consists of eccentric error, tooth profile error, stagger angle and assembly error. This work shows that the changing regulation of the load sharing characteristics with any one of the above errors is different. However, the load sharing characteristics become worse with the increase of multi-coupling error, in which the eccentric error plays a main role. Therefore, the error control should focus on eccentric error.

The face gear power-split system has huge superiorities over the traditional transmission form in the application of modern rotorcraft, and it has become the research trend of the industry in recent years. Thus this paper took the double input face gear split-parallel transmission system used in the rotorcraft as the research target, and established its dynamics model through the lumped parameter theory. Based on the Newtonian second law, the dynamics equations were built and solved to gain the meshing forces and load sharing coefficients of the transmission system. Simultaneously, the impacts of the eccentric errors, support stiffness, and torsional stiffness on the load sharing characteristics were studied. The results show that the meshing forces and load sharing coefficients of each gear pair have periodic changes; the eccentric errors of each drive stage gear have only a significant effect on the corresponding drive stage. Moreover, the changes in the support stiffness of the split-torque shafts and double gear shafts mainly affect the load distribution of the parallel stage, and the shaft torsional stiffness is less sensitively to maintain load balance. In addition, the increment of the shaft stiffness increases the load sharing coefficients of the corresponding gear pairs.

The (4+N) DOFs (degrees of freedom) nonlinear dynamic model of the planetary gear transmission system has been established which include the horizontal displacement, vertical displacement of sun gear, eccentricity error excitation of the sun gear and planetary gear, and gear backlash. The nonlinear dynamic equations was dealt with non-dimensional. Non-dimensional relative displacement of sun gear with planet gears and planet gears with internal gear were solved by using the method of numerical integration. Load sharing coefficients of every planet gear was got by dealt with the result of dynamic equations. The differences of non-dimensional relative displacement and load sharing coefficient were contrasted.
