The shortcomings of current on-line condition monitoring system include: the research was concentrated in AC substation; the function was single and completely independent; the protocols were not compatible and the interface was not unified. To improve these disadvantages and better satisfy the needs of the condition monitoring in converter station, the design and implementation of condition monitoring and decision support system in HVDC converter station was realized. By studying of condition monitoring method, decision support technology and engineering application of HVDC project, the system design principle was discussed, the software structure was shown and the function realization was given in detail. The implementation realized real time monitoring for running equipments, provided reliable gist for maintenance and reduced the costs of resources. The implementation is applied to HVDC project witch has a great significance in improving the operation efficiency and promoting the smart grid construction.

A new aided decision support system (DSS) based on data warehouses is discussed. It is composed of data warehouses, on-line analysis processing, and data mining, which is new in the field of DSS. The essential principle, the setting up of the model, the development environment, the main system interface, and a sketch of the theory framework of the new DSS architecture are also described. The decision support system was applied to data abstraction for evaluating ship form scenarios. Tests have shown it to be practical and dependable in complex systems, such as in the demonstration of ship forms.

Abstract In the present paper, an approach based on fuzzy logic is presented concerning a fuzzy decision support system for faults’ handling in train driving. A short introduction is given first that contains the problem’s description and its major aspects. A literature review follows that refers to the last advances in the field of man–machine interface, fuzzy logic applications and fault handling procedures in train driving. The paper emphasizes also on the important role of fuzzy logic in capturing, expressing and exploiting the existing experience on faults’ manipulation during train operation. Furthermore, a theoretical approach is proposed for the development of a fuzzy decision support system that advises the train operator on faults’ handling during its operation. Except of the advice that could offer, it is expected that — after its development — the system will be able to continuously check on-line the operator’s actions and operations in order to conclude, in a fuzzy manner, about both their correctness and efficiency and to suggest further actions and operations to be undertaken.
