This thesis implements power flow application, Newton-Raphson method. The Newton-Raphson method is mainly employed in the solution of power flow problems. The network of Myanma electric power system is used as the reference case. The system network contains 90 buses and 106 brunches. The weak points are found in the network by using Newton-Raphson method. Bus 16, 17, 85 and 86 have the most weak bus voltages. The medium transmission line between bus 87 and bus 17 is compensated by using MATLAB program software. The transmission line is compensated with shunt reactors, series and shunt capacitors to improve transient and steady-state stability, more economical loading, and minimum voltage dip on load buses and to supply the requisite reactive power to maintain the receiving end voltage at a satisfactory level. The system performance is tested under steady-state condition. This paper investigates and improves the steady–state operation of Myanma Power System Network.

The main problem in the solar energy field is the storage of thermal energy. To divert this problem, it was suggested to use a flat-plat solar collector which also serves as a storage system; this solution will reduce the size of a refrigerating machine that we are studying. A high stored energy density is only possible if we through use latent heat of phase change. Thermal analysis has been developed for this type of storage collector for near-steady state conditions using a nanofluid heat storage substance depended on KNO3–NaNO3 binary salt mixture as PCM and a mix of Al2O3–SiO2 as nanoparticle, from which the new Hottel-Whillier-Bliss equations have been used for efficient flat plate collector. Computations were achieved for a large variety of parameters to verify the significance of the created model.

Direct current motors (DC motor) are used in the small electric devices commonly. DC motor are cheap and easy to install, thus their popularity. Despite the popularity, faults occur which make diagnosis and detection of faults very important. It avoids financial loss and unexpected shutdown operation causes by these faults. This paper presents an analysis of temperature profile of the much famous small Brushed DC motor with a faulty bearing. The temperature data of healthy DC motor and DC motor with faulty bearing were measured by thermocouple and recorded using data logger in real time until steady state temperature, under different load. The analysis on the steady state temperature allow to conclude that bearing fault can clearly be recognised through characteristics temperature difference with a healthy motor.

Breast thermography is an emerging adjunct tool to mammography in early breast cancer detection due to its non-invasiveness and safety. Steady-state infrared imaging proves promising in this field as it is not affected by tissue density. The main aim of the present study is to develop a computational thermal model of breast cancer using real breast surface geometry and internal tumor specification. The model depicting the thermal profile of the subject's aggressive ductal carcinoma is calibrated by variation of blood perfusion and metabolic heat generation rate. The subject's IR image is used for validation of the simulated temperature profile. The thermal breast model presented here may prove useful in monitoring the response of tumor post-chemotherapy for female subjects with similar breast cancer characteristics.

The application of thermal methods to the study of steady-state combustion is described. Such methods provide a route to information on heat transfer and chemical kinetics which forms a basis for the implementation of numerical models. The experimental results from thermal analysis and temperature profile analysis have been examined within the context of a simple pseudo one-dimensional model of propagation offering some confirmation of the validity of the approach.
