The title compound,catena-poly[[[bis(ethylenediamine-κ2N,N′)platinum(II)]- μ-chlorido-[bis(ethylenediamine)platinum(IV)]-μ-chlorido] tetrakis{4-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)diazenyl]benzenesulfonate} dihydrate], {[PtIIPtIVCl2(C2H8N2)4](HOC6H4N=NC6H4SO3)4·2H2O}n, has a linear chain structure composed of square-planar [Pt(en)2]2+(en is ethylenediamine) and elongated octahedraltrans-[PtCl2(en)2]2+cations stacked alternately, bridged by Cl atoms, along thebaxis. The Pt atoms are located on an inversion centre, while the Cl atoms are disordered over two sites and form a zigzag ...Cl—PtIV—Cl...PtII... chain, with a PtIV—Cl bond length of 2.3140 (14) Å, an interatomic PtII...Cl distance of 3.5969 (15) Å and a PtIV—Cl...PtIIangle of 170.66 (6)°. The structural parameter indicating the mixed-valence state of the Pt atom, expressed by δ = (PtIV—Cl)/(PtII...Cl), is 0.643.

The title compound, [PdCl2{P(C6H11)2(C6H5)}2], forms a monomeric complex with atrans-square-planar geometry. The Pd—P bond lengths are 2.3343 (5) Å, as the Pd atom lies on an inversion centre, while the Pd—Cl bond lengths are 2.3017 (4) Å. The observed structure was found to be closely related to [PdCl2{P(C6H11)3}2] [Grushinet al.(1994).Inorg. Chem.33, 4804–4806], [PdBr2{P(C6H11)3}2] [Clarkeet al.(2003).Dalton Trans.pp. 4393–4394] and [PdCl2P(C6H11)2(C7H7)}2] [Vuotiet al.(2008).Eur. J. Inorg. Chem.pp. 397–407] (C6H11is cyclohexyl and C7H7iso-tolyl). One of the cyclohexyl rings is disordered with the phenyl ring in a 0.587 (9):413 (9) ratio. Five long-range C—H...Cl interactions were observed within the structure.

In the title compound, [PdCl2(C7H9NO)2], the Pd atom is situated on a crystallographic centre of inversion. The coordination environment of the Pd atom shows a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The crystal structure exhibits weak intermolecular Pd...Cl interactions, with Pd...Cl distances of 3.6912 (6) Å. A chain-like arrangement of molecules realized by intermolecular N—H...Cl hydrogen bonds is observed along [010].

In the title compound, [Cu3(C10H13N2O2)2Cl(ClO4)3(H2O)3]·2H2O, the Cu atoms exhibit octahedral, square-pyramidal and square-planar coordination environments, and they are linked by carboxylate groups to form a trinuclear structure. The five water molecules participate in intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding.

The title compound, [Au(C18H10F4PS)Cl2], crystallizes as neutral molecules, with the AuIIIatom coordinated by two Cl atoms and by the P and S atoms of the bidentate phosphanyl thiolate ligand, in a slightly distorted square-planar environment. The molecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimersvialong axial Au—Cl bonds of 3.393 (4) Å. This axial Au—Cl distance is longer than is usually seen, although one other example has been given. Dimer formation may explain the unexpectedly low solubility of the compound in common polar solvents. There is also a separate intermolecular Au—F contact of 3.561 (6) Å, but this distance seems too long to be regarded as a bond. Two putative C—H...F hydrogen bonds appear to link the dimers into sheets parallel to (110). There is a short intermolecular F...F contact of 2.695 (10) Å between two dimers related by the twofold axis.

In the title compound, [Pd(C7H3NO4)(C10H8N2)]·H2O, the PdII cation is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar coordination geometry defined by the two N atoms of the 2,2′-bipyridine ligand, one O atom and one N atom from the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate anion. The complex and solvent water molecule are linked by intermolecular hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, the complex molecules are stacked in columns along the a axis.

The title compound, [PdCl(C29H25N3P2)]Cl·H2O·C2H4Cl2, contains a cationic pincer-type PNP complex with Pd in a square-planar coordination. The complexes form dimers which are π–π stacked via their pyridine rings and linked into chains via hydrogen bonds via four-membered rings of two chloride anions and two water molecules. Pairs of 1,2-dichloroethane molecules are entrapped in pockets of the structure and show weak interactions with palladium.
