Data indicate that ΔI=3/2 transitions account for 4.5–4.7% of both CP conserving and CP violating K→2π decays, as well as CP conserving radiative K→ππγ processes. Observed K→ππγ/ππ branching ratios are shown to scale near α/π or α/2π. The KL–KS mixing angle ϕ and the semileptonic weak-rate asymmetry δ are reviewed, and theory is shown to be consistent with data. Also, K→2π ΔI=1/2 dominance is studied in the context of the chiral constituent quark model, displaying again excellent agreement with data. Finally, indirect and direct kaon CP violation (CPV) are successfully described in the framework of photon-mediated quark-loop graphs. This suggests that kaon CPV can be understood via second-order weak transitions, radiatively corrected.

We study on-shell decays of light vector meson resonances ρ, K* and ϕ in the framework of chiral constituent quark model using resummation calculations. Such studies are necessary for showing that dynamics described by chiral Lagrangian works well at this energy scale. The effective action is derived by a proper vertex method, where resummation of all orders of momentum expansion is accomplished. Also studied are the loop effects of pseudoscalar meson, which play an important role at this energy scale. The numerical results agree well with the experimental data. A new method to explore the chiral symmetry spontaneously breaking (CSSB) is proposed. It is found that the unitarity of the effective meson theory resulted from resummation derivations demands an upper-limit to the momentum of vector meson. This upper-limit, being critical point, is just the energy scale of CSSB, and is found to be flavor-dependent.

We consider neutral pseudoscalar, η, and axial vector, f1(1420), mesons in the OZI-rule-respecting flavor basis, [Formula: see text], and suggest a scenario for their coupling to the nucleon. Within this framework, the nonstrange parts of the ηN and f1N couplings are modeled by means of triangular a0πN, and KK*(Λ/Σ) vertices, while the strange ones partly proceed via Goldberger–Treiman relations, which have been concluded solely on the grounds of current universality. The suggested model explains the observed suppression of the ηN coupling with respect to the constituent quark model expectations, and predicts the coupling of f1with the nucleon.
