The influence of the [Formula: see text]-state in the unitarity condition on the behavior of the proton form factor in the time-like region is studied. The contribution of the quasi-nuclear bound state discovered earlier in the elastic [Formula: see text]-channel to the proton electromagnetic form factor is estimated. This result well describes high precision data of the experiment PS-170 performed at LEAR and indicates quantum numbers of a possible quasi-nuclear [Formula: see text] bound state near the threshold.
