Hadronic transitions are important decay modes of heavy quarkonia and serve as an elegant probe for the internal structure. Several remarkable discoveries have been made to identify the conventional heavy quarkonia and to extract useful information about the so called “XYZ” exotic states. We studied the hadronic transitions of higher charmonia in the framework of our recently proposed effective model to create light meson(s) in heavy quarkonium transitions. In this contribution, we discuss our results for the charmonium-[Formula: see text] decays of higher [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] wave vector charmonia. We also discuss quantum number [Formula: see text] assignments for few experimentally observed charmoniumlike states.

Abstract We compute the exclusive electroproduction, γ*p → Vp, of heavy quarkonia V to NLO in the collinear factorisation scheme, which has been formally proven for this process. The inclusion of an off-shell virtuality Q2 carried by the photon extends the photoproduction phase space of the exclusive heavy quarkonia observable to electroproduction kinematics. This process is relevant for diffractive scattering at HERA and the upcoming EIC, as well as at the proposed LHeC and FCC.

According to the usual application of the sequential-suppression picture to the dynamics of heavy quarkonia in the hot medium formed in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions, quark–antiquark pairs created in a given bound or unbound state remain in that same state as the medium evolves. We argue that this scenario implicitly assumes an adiabatic evolution of the quarkonia and we show that the validity of the adiabaticity assumption is questionable.
