We give simple expressions for the low temperature susceptibility of cubic and hexagonal Kondo alloys containing cerium as the magnetic impurity. We fit our expressions to data for cubic La-Ce and cubic (La-Ce)Al2, and to measurements of the parallel susceptibility in hexagonal Y-Ce.

We have studied the electronic transport and magnetic properties of a nanocrystalline La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 system. We observed low temperature Kondo effect with magnetic cluster behavior.
