The pseudogap structure in low energy excitation in cuprates appears below a temperature and the spectral density exhibits strong wave-vector dependence. An electronic model that emphasized the coupling of carrier in Cu-O with phonon is examined for pseudogap. The electron–phonon interaction originates from the modulation of on-site and hopping energy and leads to spontaneous Jahn–Teller-like distortion and pseudogap below a critical temperature. At low temperature the spectral density has two-peak structure about the Fermi level for all k along Γ-M whereas such structure exists along Γ-X for small k only. The magnitude of pseudogap shows strong k-dependence — maximum along Γ-M and vanishes along Γ-X. These features emphasize the role of electron–phonon interaction in formation of pseudogap.

Abstract Emission spectra of Pb2+ centres in barium chloride single crystals have been studied between 4 and 300 K by excitation with different wave lengths. Excitation spectra at 300 K have also been obtained by measuring the emission in the maxima of the shoitwave and longwave bands. The results allow to conclude that the high energy emission band is due to the transition | 3T1u > → | 1A1g > in the activator ion. The more effective excitation of the low energy emission band observed in the shortwave region of the absorption spectrum and the complex nature of both bands are discussed.

We have developed a series of AIO-type copper halide hybrid semiconductors. The low-energy emission and high efficiency, coupled with good solution processability make these compounds promising candidate as robust and eco-friendly lighting phosphors.

We present the observations of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRB) by the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT). In the first six months of the mission four GRB were detected at energies greater than 100 MeV by the LAT. The spectral and temporal properties of the three events detected within the LAT field of view, particulary with respect to the low-energy emission detected by the GBM, will be outlined.
