AbstractThe coherent states approximation for one-dimensional multi-phased wave functions is considered in this paper. The wave functions are assumed to oscillate on a characteristic wave length 0(ε) with ε ≪ 1. A parameter recovery algorithm is first developed for single-phased wave function based on a moment asymptotic analysis. This algorithm is then extended to multi-phased wave functions. If cross points or caustics exist, the coherent states approximation algorithm based on the parameter recovery will fail in some local regions. In this case, we resort to the windowed Fourier transform technique, and propose a composite coherent states approximation method. Numerical experiments show that the number of coherent states derived by the proposed method is much less than that by the direct windowed Fourier transform technique.

One kind of hierarchical wave functions of Fractional Quantum Hall Effect on the torus is constructed. We find that the wave functions are closely related to the wave functions of generalized Abelian Chern-Simons theory.

In this paper, we study the coherent states of Landau–Aharonov–Casher (LAC) levels. These LAC levels are an analogue of the Landau quantization for neutral particles. Afterwards, we investigate some properties of the coherent states, evaluate the uncertainty product and derive the wave functions for our problem. We also discuss the coherent states for the Landau–He–McKellar–Wilkens (LHMW) levels by using the Maxwell duality.

Intertwined multiple Chern–Simons gauge fields induce matrix statistics among particles. We analyze this theory on a torus, focusing on the vacuum structure and the Hilbert space. The theory can be mimicked, although not completely, by an effective theory with one Chern–Simons gauge field. The correspondence between the Wilson line integrals, vacuum degeneracy and wave functions for these two theories are discussed. Further, it is found in both of these cases that the two total momenta and Hamiltonian commute only in the physical Hilbert space.
