In this paper the superconducting properties in La 1.85S Sr 0.15 Cu 1-x Mn x O 4 and La 1.85-2x Sr 0.15+2x Cu 1-x Mn x O 4 samples are discussed. The superconducting transition temperature keeps constantly at 37 K for all superconducting samples. The suppression of superconductivity in these systems does not fit the Arbrikosov and Gork'ov theory which predicts that Tc should decrease in the presence of magnetic impurities in the lattice. The magnetic pair-breaking effect is not the reason for the suppression of superconductivity in Mn doping systems. The localization of carriers in the CuO 2 plane induced by Mn doping should be responsible for the suppression of superconductivity.

The theoretical analyses of the recent discovery of a new resistance anomaly in Zr–Cu superconducting metallic glasses with dilute magnetic impurities have been made. The resistance peaks are found to occur within 20–60 mK range above the resistive midpoint of the superconducting transition. The influence of Zr concentration on the peak has also been investigated. The results are in good qualitative agreement with the reported experimental findings.

Experiments have been carried out on the 3 MeV electron microscope in Toulouse. The low temperature straining holder has been previously described Images given by an image intensifier are recorded on magnetic tape. The microtensile niobium samples are cut in a plane with the two operative slip directions [111] and lying in the foil plane. The tensile axis is near [011].Our results concern:- The transition temperature of niobium near 220 K: at this temperature and below an increasing difference appears between the mobilities of the screw and edge portions of dislocations loops. Source operation and interactions between screw dislocations of different slip system have been recorded.
