Experimental techniques for studying the two-dimensional electron gas in semiconductor heterostructures and MOSFETs at microwave and millimeterwave frequencies are reviewed. The phenomena described concern electrical conductivity, carrier mobility, cyclotron resonance, quantum Hall effect, depolarisation effects, and electron spin resonance.
