The One

The temperature dependence of the heat capacity [Formula: see text] of the harmonic model of quasi-periodic binary chain of atoms is studied numerically. It is shown that [Formula: see text] at T RED =k B T/E max ≲10−2, where A is a constant depending on the model parameters and E max denotes a maximal eigenenergy of the dynamic matrix. At high temperatures, [Formula: see text] approaches the Dulong-Peti limit.
