We investigate spatial moduli of non-differentiability for the fourth-order linearized Kuramoto–Sivashinsky (L-KS) SPDEs and their gradient, driven by the space-time white noise in one-to-three dimensional spaces. We use the underlying explicit kernels and symmetry analysis, yielding spatial moduli of non-differentiability for L-KS SPDEs and their gradient. This work builds on the recent works on delicate analysis of regularities of general Gaussian processes and stochastic heat equation driven by space-time white noise. Moreover, it builds on and complements Allouba and Xiao’s earlier works on spatial uniform and local moduli of continuity of L-KS SPDEs and their gradient.

The neuroimaging technique three-dimensional polarized light imaging (3D-PLI) provides a high-resolution reconstruction of nerve fibres in human post-mortem brains. The orientations of the fibres are derived from birefringence measurements of histological brain sections assuming that the nerve fibres—consisting of an axon and a surrounding myelin sheath—are uniaxial birefringent and that the measured optic axis is oriented in the direction of the nerve fibres (macroscopic model). Although experimental studies support this assumption, the molecular structure of the myelin sheath suggests that the birefringence of a nerve fibre can be described more precisely by multiple optic axes oriented radially around the fibre axis (microscopic model). In this paper, we compare the use of the macroscopic and the microscopic model for simulating 3D-PLI by means of the Jones matrix formalism. The simulations show that the macroscopic model ensures a reliable estimation of the fibre orientations as long as the polarimeter does not resolve structures smaller than the diameter of single fibres. In the case of fibre bundles, polarimeters with even higher resolutions can be used without losing reliability. When taking the myelin density into account, the derived fibre orientations are considerably improved.

In this work, Lie symmetry analysis for the time fractional third-order evolution (TOE) equation with Riemann–Liouville (RL) derivative is analyzed. We transform the time fractional TOE equation to nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE) of fractional order using its Lie point symmetries with a new dependent variable. In the reduced equation, the derivative is in Erdelyi–Kober (EK) sense. We obtain a kind of an explicit power series solution for the governing equation based on the power series theory. Using Ibragimov's nonlocal conservation method to time fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs), we compute conservation laws (CLs) for the TOE equation. Two dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), and contour plots for the explicit power series solution are presented.

AbstractRecent discovered two-dimensional (2D) antiferromagnetic (AFM) van der Waals quantum materials have attracted increasing interest due to the emergent exotic physical phenomena. The spintronic properties utilizing the intrinsic AFM state in 2D antiferromagnets, however, have been rarely found. Here we show that the spin photogalvanic effect (SPGE), which has been predicted in three-dimensional (3D) antiferromagnets, can intrinsically emerge in 2D antiferromagnets for promising spintronic applications. Based on the symmetry analysis of possible AFM orders in the honeycomb lattice, we conclude suitable 2D AFM candidate materials for realizing the SPGE. We choose two experimentally synthesized 2D collinear AFM materials, monolayer MnPS3, and bilayer CrCl3, as representative materials to perform first-principles calculations, and find that they support sizable SPGE. The SPGE in collinear 2D AFM materials can be utilized to generate pure spin current in a contactless and ultra-fast way.

AbstractIn this paper, by using the Lie symmetry analysis, all of the geometric vector fields of the $(3+1)$ ( 3 + 1 ) -Burgers system are obtained. We find the 1, 2, and 3-dimensional optimal system of the Burger system and then by applying the 3-dimensional optimal system reduce the order of the system. Also the nonclassical symmetries of the $(3+1)$ ( 3 + 1 ) -Burgers system will be found by employing nonclassical methods. Finally, the ansatz solutions of BS equations with the aid of the tanh method has been presented. The achieved solutions are investigated through two- and three-dimensional plots for different values of parameters. The analytical simulations are presented to ensure the efficiency of the considered technique. The behavior of the obtained results for multiple cases of symmetries is captured in the present framework. The outcomes of the present investigation show that the considered scheme is efficient and powerful to solve nonlinear differential equations that arise in the sciences and technology.

An effective reduced-order model is presented in this paper for the vibration analysis of a mistuned blade–disc–shaft assembly considering the flexibility of the shaft and the rotordynamic effects. For the sake of accurate modeling and quantitative analysis, three-dimensional (3D) finite element models were employed in obtaining the governing equations of motion with the Coriolis force, centrifugal stiffening, and spin softening effects taken into account. Then, an efficient model order reduction technique based on the coordinate projection by normal modes of tuned assembly and cyclic symmetry analysis was developed for mistuned blade–disc–shaft assembly. The criterion of whether one matrix could be incorporated in cyclic symmetry analysis is presented. During the modeling, the mistuning in blade and disc was taken into account and dealt with independently. In mistuning projection, the blade and disc parts were both projected onto their tuned counterparts of the sector model, where the boundary conditions were set to be fixed and free, respectively. Finally, an example of a blade–disc–shaft assembly was employed to validate the effectiveness of the presented method in free and forced vibration analysis.
