The K-shell ionization cross sections for Ar gas were measured from 100 keV down to 40 keV of H ions. The results are compared with theoretical calculations of PWBABC, CPSSR, and ECPSSR. They indicate that the discrepancy between experimental results and theoretical calculation increases as the H+ energy decreases in the range below ~50 keV. This is consistent with previous results on K-shell X-rays for Si.
