ABSTRACT Simulations of galaxy formation tend to place star particles in orbits seriously different from circular in numbers far larger than seem reasonable for the bulges and stellar haloes of the nearby L ∼ L* galaxies that can be examined in particularly close detail. I offer an example of how the situation might be improved: a prescription for non-Gaussian initial conditions on the scale of galaxies.
