ABSTRACTObjective: Fundamental research in pharmacy and medicine have shown that drugs, which are based on nucleus of the 1,2,4-triazole, have a widerange of biological effects. Derivatives of this heterocyclic system have well-known Ukrainian clinicians and the world scientists due to its antifungal, antidepressant, anticancer, cardio- and hepatoprotective properties. The pharmacological activity of most organic compounds depends on severaldifferent factors, including bioavailability of the substance. Hence, it is very important to consider the results of the synthetic and biological researchesand established dependence of structure on the biological action when scientists model new molecules or improve pharmacological properties of anexisting structure. One of the important social and economic problems of the pharmaceutical industry is the implementation in practice of new drugsthat could compete with expensive imported drugs. In recent times, 1,2,4-triazole-3-thioderivatives take attention of compatriots and scientists offoreign countries who are working on finding bioactive compounds including heterocyclic systems. The structure, physical and chemical properties, pharmacological activities of 1,2,4-triazoles, and their 3-thioderivatives are understudied. Hence, the study of that will be actually and novelty formodern science. The main purpose of our research is synthesis of 3-alkylsulfonyl-5-(chinoline-2-yl, 2-hydroxychinoline-4-yl)-4-R-2,4-dihydro-3N1,2,4-triazoles,studyingof its physicaland chemical properties. Methods: The initial compounds have been synthesized previously using known in literature techniques. Oxidation of the sulfur atom of thesynthesized compounds to the hexavalent condition was carried out adding solution of hydrogen peroxide. Results: The structure of the obtained compounds was determined with the modern physical and chemical analysis methods: Element analysis,infrared-spectrophotometry, and their individuality with thin layer chromatography. Conclusions: Prospect of the further researches is determination of acute toxicity and next studying of pharmacological properties of the synthesizedcompounds. Keywords: 1,2,4-triazoles, Synthesis, Chemical properties, Chinoline.1

AbstractCoumarins (2H-1-benzopyran-2-coumarin derivatives) are derivatives of cinnamic acid naturally occurring in many plants, fungi, and fruits. They are used as ingredients in cosmetics to enhance the aroma and other biological effects. In this work, cosmetic samples (deodorants) were treated by solid phase extraction prior to high performance liquid chromatography determination of coumarins. Traditional sorbent (C18) and selective polymer-based sorbents (laboratory prepared and commercial) were used for solid phase extraction. Recovery values were above 85 % (RSDs below 6 %) except for esculin, where the recovery was lower. Core-shell column of C18 type and gradient of mobile phase methanol—1 % acetic acid were used for high performance liquid chromatography analysis of extracts. Limits of quantitation were 0.5 µg mL−1 for coumarin (ultraviolet detection) and below 12 ng mL−1 for esculin, umbelliferonene, scoparone, 4-methylumbelliferone, herniarin (fluorescence detection). In the tested samples, no coumarins were detected.

Luteolin is a flavonoid often found in various medicinal plants that exhibits multiple biological effects such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity. Commercially available medicinal plants and their preparations containing luteolin are often used in the treatment of hypertension, inflammatory diseases, and even cancer. However, to establish the quality of such preparations, appropriate analytical methods should be used. Therefore, the present paper provides the first comprehensive review of the current analytical methods that were developed and validated for the quantitative determination of luteolin and its C- and O-derivatives including orientin, isoorientin, luteolin 7-O-glucoside and others. It provides a systematic overview of chromatographic analytical techniques including thin layer chromatography (TLC), high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC), liquid chromatography (LC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC) and counter-current chromatography (CCC), as well as the conditions used in the determination of luteolin and its derivatives in plant material.

Determination of the total biological effects of anthropogenic water pollution remains an important issue. Our long-term studies have shown that numerous alterations occur in the frog liver histological structure under pressure of anthropogenic pollution factor. Th e leukocyte infiltration, fat dystrophy, protein dystrophy and necrosis are well known on the mammal liver. Also we first described the rebuilding in the normal liver structure and the depletation of the fibrous tissue which are characteristic for the amphibians. Quantitative analysis of these alterations can identify significant differences in the pattern of pathological changes in the liver of the green frogs, which pick up in anthropogenically contaminated landscapes and in the clear ponds. Th is method allows quantifying the degree of biological effect of pollution.
