According to the characteristics of HF channel and chirp signal, an innovative multipath time-delay model of wide-band HF channel was proposed, by which the estimation problem of time-delay was converted into an estimation problem of spectrum. Then the MUSIC algorithm with super-resolution ability was applied to the problem above. The feasibility of estimating multipath time-delays based on single measurement data was deeply discussed. Meanwhile, the performance of applying MUSIC and root MUSIC algorithm to the model proposed in the paper was presented. The simulation results suggested that the method proposed in the paper owned super-resolution ability and robust in estimation of multipath time-delay.

AbstractIn this paper, we propose and analyze a cooperation model with harvesting and state-dependent delay, which is assumed to be an increasing function of the population density with lower and upper bound. The main purpose of this article is to obtain the dynamics of our model analytically by controlling the harvesting. We present results on positivity and boundedness of all populations. Criteria for the existence of all equilibria and uniqueness of a positive equilibrium are given by controlling the harvesting. Finally, the global exponentially asymptotical stability criteria of model is obtained by the improved Hanalay inequality.

Farming awareness is an important measure for pest controlling in agricultural practice. Time delay in controlling pest may affect the system. Time delay occurs in organizing awareness campaigns, also time delay may takes place in becoming aware of the control strategies or implementing suitable controlling methods informed through social media. Thus we have derived a mathematical model incorporating two time delays into the system and Holling type-II functional response. The existence and the stability criteria of the equilibria are obtained in terms of the basic reproduction number and time delays. Stability changes occur through Hopf-bifurcation when time delays cross the critical values. Optimal control theory has been applied for cost-effectiveness of the delayed system. Numerical simulations are carried out to justify the analytical results. This study shows that optimal farming awareness through radio, TV etc. can control the delay induced bifurcation in a cost-effective way.

SUMMARYA two-pool + time delay model was used to analyse ideal marker concentration patterns generated, using an interactive computer simulation program, from data for the mean retention times of [51Cr]EDTA and [103Ru]phen in the reticulo-rumen, abomasum and caecum-proximal colon and the transit times of these markers through the omasum, small intestine and distal large intestine of sheep. Although providing a reasonably close fit to the generated data, the fitted curves showed small but systematic deviations, indicating that the model does not consistently characterize the kinetics of the markers in the ruminant gastro-intestinal tract. When the components of the two-pool model were correctly identified, predicted rumen mean retention times (MRT) were within – 1 to + 13% of the observed values. However, identifying the component with the longer MRT as the rumen resulted in up to 2·6-fold overestimation (17·5 v. 6·77 h). The model underestimated the time delay and the overall MRT. It is suggested that the correct identification of the two components can be achieved by the simultaneous use of a solute-and a particulate-phase marker because, in ruminants, they do not behave independently in the caecumproximal colon.

This paper presents the analytical resistance–capacitance–inductance–conductance (RLCG) model of the on-chip interconnect line (IL) based on its structure, and the proposed model can be used to design IL and analyze the delay characteristics. Using electromagnetic (EM) simulation, the relations between the inductance, quality factor and the width, length of IL are obtained, which verifies the proposed RLCG model of IL. The delay model of IL is derived and verified with respect to the effects of the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] by simulation, which can provide the benefit for the true-time delay line (TTDL) design using IL. This work proposes the experiments on the delay characteristics of 3-bit TTDL with IL based on 0.13[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]m SiGe BiCMOS technology. The group delay and transient delay of the TTDL are measured, which exhibits a maximal relative delay of 35 ps with an average of 5 ps delay resolution over a frequency range of 14–34[Formula: see text]GHz. The results are consistent with the delay analysis based on the proposed IL model.

In this note, a novel multitechnique concise robust control scheme, based on the mirror mapping technique (MMT), closed-loop gain shaping algorithm (CGSA), Smith predictor (SP), and nonlinear feedback technique (NFT), is proposed for the pressure control of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier insulation containment space. Firstly, a kind of integral unstable time-delay model is obtained by linearizing the nonlinear model of the pressure maintenance system around its equilibrium. By using the MMT and CGSA, one acquires the corresponding stable mirror mapping model of the unstable linear model and the designed controller. And the SP is introduced to tackle the time-delay problem. In addition, for the purpose of energy saving, the NFT is added into the control scheme. Finally, a set of experiments has been employed to illustrate the control effects, and the results show that it can achieve satisfying performance in aspects of disturbance rejection and energy saving.
