In modern organizations, the major role of knowledge management is supporting knowledge work. The concept of knowledge work assumes not only task performance, but also the review and evaluation of the work done in order to understand and learn from the experience. Knowledge work relies on a body of knowledge to support processes that address both the performance of work and the intellective aspects of the work activity (Zuboff, 1988). In this sense knowledge management becomes one of the most important mechanisms in implementing such support. In this article we present task-based knowledge management (TbKM) as an alternative approach to knowledge management (KM).

Many works in innovation research use path dependencies to explain the fact that change is often difficult to achieve. With regard to a transition to a green economy specific path dependencies are identified in the sectors of energy, mobility, housing and food in Germany. The paper looks into technological, economical, organizational, user-specific and legal path dependencies. For a successful transition to a green economy, the role of the state seems to be central. In many areas of transition, transitional regulation is full of loopholes and does not work. Activity of lobby groups prevents society from setting path-changing regulation.

This paper presents a framework for the design of user interfaces which starts out from the work situations where computer based artifacts are used: The framework deals with the role of the user interface in purposeful human work. Human activity theory is used in this analysis. The purpose of the paper is to make the reader curious and hopefully open his or her eyes to a somewhat different way of thinking about the user interface. The paper applies examples of real-life interfaces to support this process, but it is not the purpose of the paper to give a systematic presentation of empirical results. The paper focuses on the role of the computer application in use. Thus, it is necessary to deal not only with the relation between the human being and the computer, but also with other surounding conditions for work. Human experience and competence is dealt with as rooted in the practice of the group which conducts the specific work activity

Drawing on in-depth biographical interviews with 12 grandfathers of young grandchildren living in Czech Republic, this study explores how men perform and conceptualize their role of grandfather in relation to their previous role of father and their own family history. The analysis shows grandparenthood as an ambivalent space for the reconstruction of masculinity. One the one hand, grandparenthood was depicted by the participants as an important way of transitioning one’s own relationship to care and emotionality that enable them to relate to the care for young children outside the traditional frameworks of masculinity associated with the role of father. On the other hand, grandfather role represents an important tool for maintaining a connection with the ideal of hegemonic masculinity in older age and as a space for reconstructing the dichotomy between femininity and masculinity and the traditional dichotomies of care/work, activity/passivity, and private/public.

The article is devoted to the study of methods of motivation and stimulation of personnel to work in the conditions of modern dynamic changes in the global market. The author noted that in the current unstable conditions of functioning of domestic enterprises, the system for ensuring their development acquires such features as the need and reliability of effective work of personnel. Personnel management of enterprises is impossible without understanding the essence, content and role of the labor incentive process, which has led to the relevance of its study, that is, conducting a comprehensive study of the needs, motives and incentives of a person, clarifying the classification of these categories, which contributes to a proper understanding of the categorical apparatus and ensuring effective staff motivation and incentives. At this stage of development, the Russian economy is experiencing instability and inability to fully meet the needs of the population in the workplace. There is a staff turnover that adversely affects the quality of work of staff who understand the precariousness of their position and therefore do not have sufficient incentive to fully benefit the company for which they work. To ensure the effective use of all the professional and intellectual potential of the worker, it is necessary to find new or time-tested mechanisms to stimulate his work activity. In the course of the study, the author reviewed the theoretical foundations of the methods of motivating and stimulating labor highlighted the features of the functioning of the domestic labor market. The experience of foreign companies in relation to non-standard methods of motivation and stimulation was also studied, on the basis of which reasonable directions for the formation of a system of motivation and incentives for labor in Russia at the present stage of development of economic relations were proposed.
