This chapter presents, in a descriptive manner, the interrelation of the sustainability reporting concepts and the sustainability disclosure through internal and external stakeholders. The main objectives of this chapter are approaching the disclosure of environmental information, presenting the views of the stakeholders on the content and format of environmental reporting. The factors underlying the disclosure of the environmental information and the impact of these, including the views stakeholders on the content and presentation format of the environmental reporting, are presented and analyzed. A case study is also presented in order to highlight the disclosure and presentation of the environmental report of an industrial entity and the importance of the accounting information provided. This chapter brings a theoretical contribution to expand the knowledge on the environmental disclosure and reporting approaches. The authors' approaches remain open to the expansion of these issues at both national and international level and both in the academia and business area.

Although weblogs are a popular medium of communication, their influence on society is unclear. In particular, studies that investigate the impact and influence of blogosphere on the community and government have not been fully exploited. Such studies are important especially to the government in reshaping and realigning the policies related to new media. This article presents the outcomes of a study to identify measures on how to assess the influence of weblogs. At least four dimensions are critical for measuring weblog influence, which are recognition (number of in links and number of visitors), activity generation (number of comments and number of posts), novelty (number of out links), and credibility of a blog (number of information presentation type, number of factual errors, and number of hyperlink citations). It is hereby proposed that these dimensions make up a measure called the Blog Influence Index.

Glass cockpits pose a novel problem in Information Presentation Format (IPF) optimization since they invariably carry more formats than they can present any given time. In addition to optimizing individual formats and the static layout of sets of formats for information presentation, designers must now concern themselves with optimizing the overall set of formats from which a subset is drawn for presentation at any given time. Fortunately, quantitative knowledge representations and reasoning techniques, deriving primarily from research in the Pilot's Associate programs, enable the use of sophisticated mathematical analysis techniques for addressing this problem quickly and easily. We present initial work on the use of Singular Value Decomposition techniques for analyzing the “fit” between the information presenting capabilities of a set of IPFs and the information needs of a set of piloting tasks and show how this technique can be used to provide design recommendations for the global set of IPFs available for presentation in the cockpit.
