AbstractIn this paper we examine the relationship between precursor structure and material properties for films produced from several leading organosilicon precursors on a common processing platform. Results from our study indicate that for the precursors tested the nature of the precursor has little effect upon film composition but significant impact on film structure and properties.

This chapter mainly introduces five basic stages of the film deposition process (vapor adsorption, surface diffusion, reaction between adsorbed species, reaction of film materials to form bonding surface, and nucleation and microstructure formation), analyzes the influence of deposition process parameters on the three basic growth modes of the film, focuses on the relationship between the control parameters of homoepitaxy and heteroepitaxy and the film structure, gives the dynamic characteristics of each growth stage, and examines the factors determining epitaxy film structure, topography, interfacial properties, and stress. It is shown that two-dimensional nucleation is a key to obtain high-quality epitaxial films.

AbstractThe electro-optical properties of polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) materials depend on both the chemical nature of the liquid crystal and polymer, as well as the morphology of the liquid crystal/polymer composite. The relationship between several aspects of film structure and PDLC film properties are described, emphasizing scattering effects and reorientation fields. In particular, the idea of relative orientation of neighboring droplets as controlling light scattering, and the role of anchoring in determining film voltages, are highlighted.

Proposta de estudo da relação entre a construção do quadro e a destilação do relato no filme Central do Brasil (Walter Salles, 1998). A escala do plano geral, da câmera em movimento, dos personagens em movimento, na postação do próximo e do distante, entrechoca-se com os planos de olhares e de pontos de vista. Mas a história tem cariz fabular e narra ações enquanto formula as personagens. Trata-se de uma narrativa de caráter melodramático, aqui estudada em sua articulação com a ideia do filme de estrada. As noções de quadro e olhar na cena são fundamentais para a problematização do gesto de enraizamento e identificação no escopo do cinema brasileiro do final de século XX. Palavras-chave: Cinema brasileiro. The scale of the long shot, the camera in movement, with characters in movement too, considering the near and far`s placement, clash against the point-of-view shots. But the history has a tone of fable and the actions are told while the characters are created. It`s a melodramatic story which is studied in its articulation with the road movie`s idea.
