Abstract A description is provided for Phytophthora pseudotsugae. Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. HOSTS: Pseudotsuga menziesii. DISEASE: Root rot of Douglas fir; the fungus is a facultatively necrotrophic plant pathogen. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: North America: USA (OR, WA).
