Abstract Hate violence which denigrates a person’s social identity whether it involves physical or verbal aggression off or online – is a communicative act. It transmits a message to the victim that they are devalued and unwelcome. It is a marginalising and exclusionary message. Answering back to hate violence by challenging hateful expression is one way of responding. It is a form of ‘civil courage’. Yet why should anybody want to take a stand and speak out – given the risks involved that perpetrators might turn on those who intervene or respond in some other way? This paper proposes that the importance of civil courage goes beyond being the right thing to do, or the humane thing, when a bystander witnesses hate violence off- or online. Instead, if we comprehend hate violence as a communicative act, and if we understand the particular impact of the exclusionary message it sends (and understand how bystander inaction can magnify the felt sense of social exclusion), then we might appreciate the potential value of an act of civil courage in response. There is a moral imperative for civil courage as it answers back to hate violence by sending an inclusionary message to the victim – as reasoned in this paper.

This article discusses an active gate driver for a 1.7 kV/325 A SiC MOSFET module. The main purpose of the driver is to adjust the gate voltage in specified moments to speed up the turn-on cycle and reduce the amount of dissipated energy. Moreover, an adequate manipulation of the gate voltage is necessary as the gate current should be reduced during the rise of the drain current to avoid overshoots and oscillations. The gate voltage is switched at the right moments on the basis of the feedback signal provided from a measurement of the voltage across the parasitic source inductance of the module. This approach simplifies the circuit and provides no additional power losses in the measuring circuit. The paper contains the theoretical background and detailed description of the active gate driver design. The model of the parasitic-based active gate driver was verified using the double-pulse procedure both in Saber simulations and laboratory experiments. The active gate driver decreases the turn-on energy of a 1.7 kV/325 A SiC MOSFET by 7% comparing to a conventional gate driver (VDS = 900 V, ID = 270 A, RG = 20 Ω). Furthermore, the proposed active gate driver lowered the turn-on cycle time from 478 to 390 ns without any serious oscillations in the main circuit.

Brinquedos.ABSTRACTThis article addresses and analyzes one of the objectives of Early Childhood Education established in the current National Curriculum Guidelines and Frameworks for Early Childhood Education, which is the formation of the child’s personal and social identity. It emphasizes the importance of the games, toys and their interactions for the development of the formation of the personal and social identity and the role of the teacher in this process. This research is configured as a qualitative and thematic research as an analysis of legal documents as the National Curricular Reference for Childhood Education: personal and social formation (BRASIL, 1998), National Curricular Guidelines for Early Childhood Education (BRASIL, 2010), The toys and games in the nursery: pedagogical guidance manual. (BRAZIL, 2012). We understand that texts and legal laws, even if they are national references, are meaningful in their context and therefore are universal practices, these are revealed in the action of more rigorous than the right of speech and meaning. That is, as rough as legal guidelines are prescribed and universal, what gives meaning to the text and to knowledge is the subject who lives. Keywords: Identity. Child. Personal and social formation. Critical epidemiology is the science of understanding and describing the distribution of health as socially determined and of contributing to the achievement of the universal right to it. e many causes of meDirect and indirect causation, and distant, intermediate, or proximate levels of organization of the epidemiological interrelations are all part of an integrated totality built by the historically changing dialectic relationship of particular social classes with their lived spaces. Critical epidemiology is, at last, the means to understand this relationship and to select the ‘[T]erritories of social exclusion’ as the prioritized targets for a participative construction of new health models leading to the effective reduction of health inequities and, hence, to universalize the right to health in all its objective and subjective meanings.

People’s ability to participate in the activities that are necessary to ensure their economic, political and social participation in the society in which they live is dependent upon the accessibility of the activities. Accessibility has traditionally been perceived as a function of the space, or distance, between the origin of the individual (or community) and the destination of the activity¾the opportunity, service, social network, goods¾alongside the time that it takes to cross this space. Thus, accessibility is dependent upon the individual’s ability to overcome space and time barriers, allowing them to reach the right place or person, at the right time¾and, of course, upon the availability to them of adequate resources to do this (Couclelis, 2000)1.

Zakat is a number of certain assets that the Muslim people have to give to the persons who are in need. However there are some problems in the zakat management in Indonesia. The objective of this article is to provide for a brief picture of the zakat management in Indonesia. The findings of the research conducted that it was found in 2011 that the Zakat agencies have been able to manage up to ten billion rupiahs which distribution covers the whole parts of Indonesia. Nevertheless, in Indonesia zakat has a big potential, by having 87% of Muslim populations and 20% of them are assumed as the zakat givers (muzakki). Therefore as it was reported in 2011 that the potential value of zakat was around Rp 217 trillions. In addition, the zakat added with infaq calculated around Rp 1.5 trillion per year. Meaning that the zakat collected has not reached even more than 1 percent of the potential zakat per year. Even though the number of Muslim people in Indonesia is very significant, the problems centered in the management of the zakat which is still in traditional pattern where the zakat givers (muzakki) give directly to the persons who has the right to receive zakat (mustahik). It is suggested that it need revolutionary improvement in the zakat management, there must be a mindset changing from traditional management to modern zakat management where the zakat officer (amil zakat) must be a professional one, and permanent job basis. This surely will improve the zakat management and the poverty will surely be eliminated. This research used empirical methods including the effectiveness and impact of the law

Purpose: to consider and theoretically substantiate the rules and techniques of communicative communication, techniques of speech interaction with the audience. Methods: the study of human speech activity, which is carried out through the exchange of information through texts. The interaction of the speaker with a group of persons, using a communicative act to communicate information, which will entail a certain activity or, on the contrary, inaction. The authors consider different techniques of speaking, suggest constantly training this skill in different ways: speaking tongue twisters, retelling texts, etc. The formation of the mastery of public speaking is a long and laborious process, which must be constantly learned using special literature. Speaking skill will help communicate, promoting quality interaction between people in a team. Results: thanks to this study, the authors came to the following conclusions, which give the right to say that a person's thoughts are formed with the help of consciousness, but not every person can convey them to others. It is necessary to develop public speaking skills from an early age. Starting with expressive reading of poems and episodes of literary works. You can express your attitude to any phenomenon, prove your position in relation to this or that event, prove your case not only with the help of correct arguments, but also with the skill of an orator. Over the course of many years of study, the student is given the opportunity to master the art of oratorical performance in practical classes, seminars, and presentations at conferences. Difficulties that arise when answering a test or exam often arise for students not because of a lack of knowledge in this subject, but because of the lack of skill that is needed when making a speech. Quickly logical, well-spoken speech is the key to success in any situation. The techniques and methods that the authors consider in this article will help students and many other people understand the formula for successfully mastering the skill of public speaking. A speech based on knowledge of the laws of persuasion and delivered taking into account the rules of speech interaction will help not only in studying at a university, but also in later life

To identify the barriers to social inclusion that Afghan youth encounter in Toronto, semi-structured interviews were conducted with six Afghan youth—three male and three female participants. The data revealed that participants shared (1) experiences of cultural and religious limitations, (2) language barriers, (3) being subjected to discriminatory attitudes, and (4) family responsibilities. Based on theories of Social Exclusion, Social Inclusion, and Social Identity, it was concluded that Afghan youth currently live as marginalized members of Canadian society where their participation in prominent fields such as education, employment, and recreation are limited.
