In this new millennium, in response to increasing knowledge and technological change, life-long education is becoming important for everyone, including older people. Life-long education also includes sexuality information. Everyone has the right to access sexuality information. In the past, this has been available for older people from sources such as books, magazines, peers, and television. The technological age upon us now provides yet another source. The Internet has a growing number of sites specifically for sexuality information for the older person. Such information is technology-derived, personal, instantaneous, on demand, accessible anytime, individualised, and not controlled by social, institutional, or educational structures. The opportunities this promotes are almost limitless for enhanced personal understanding and improved inter-personal relationships for older people. Here, a selection of relevant sites is identified and presented for their developmental, psychological and sociological appropriateness.

All children have the right to have sexuality education in order to enhance their self-understanding, their developing maturity and their self-concept. In the past, parents and some schools have provided this, usually as formal school programs. However, many children receive sexuality education informally from other sources such as peers, television, magazines and books. The technology available in the information age provides yet another source. The Internet has a growing number of sites specifically for sexuality education for children and pre-schoolers. Here, a selection of relevant sites is identified and presented for their developmental appropriateness. The opportunities these promote are almost limitless for children's enhanced personal understanding and knowledge-base upon which further development will occur in their teenage years and beyond.

For over forty years, most residents in rural areas of Japan have relied on private vehicles to meet their mobility needs. Today, however, the rapid ageing of the population, coupled with low birth rates and migration of young people to urban areas, is posing a variety of new transport challenges. Most notably, the proportion of drivers to non-drivers is getting smaller. This means that non-drivers who relied on family and neighbours for trips in the past, as well as elderly residents who give up their licenses, have fewer people to drive them. Current policy debates tend to focus on technological “solutions”, and underestimate the complex social, cultural and inter-personal relationships which underlie transport dependencies in these environments. Using a qualitative semi-structured survey, the current study explores the current mobilities of older people living in a small rural district in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. The resulting analysis reveals how cultural attitudes and social norms affect the ways in which older people manage their mobilities.

Investment in the right fund at the right time happens to be the key to success in the stock trading business. Therefore, for strategic investment, the selection of the right opportunity has to be executed crucially so as to reap the maximum returns from the market. Predicting the stock market has always been known to be very critical and needs years of experience as it involves lots of interleaving parameters and constraints. Intelligent investment in mutual funds (MF) can be done when various machine learning tools are used to predict future fund value using the past fund value. In this chapter, an elaborate discussion is presented on the different types of mutual funds and how these data can be used in prediction by machine learning in different literature. In this work, the NAV of a total of 17 different mutual funds have been extracted from the website of AMFI, and thereafter, ANFIS is used to forecast the time series of the NAV of the MF. They have been trained using ANFIS and thereafter tested for prediction with satisfactory results.

In modern software development, considering the viewpoints of stakeholders is an important step in building the right system. Over the past decade, several authors have proposed solutions to capture and model these viewpoints. While these solutions have been successful, one viewpoint they have largely ignored is the emotional viewpoint of stakeholders. Considering the emotional needs of stakeholders is important, because users' perceptions of a product are influenced by emotion as much as cognition. Building on their recent work in modelling the emotional goals of stakeholders, the authors extend an existing viewpoint framework to capture emotional viewpoints, and to carry these from early-phase requirements to detailed software design. They demonstrate this with a case study of an emergency alarm system for older people, presenting the entire suite of models for this case study.

The evolution of broadcast audio has been rapidly changing over the past 10–15 years with the advent of podcasts in the early 2000s. As with other media, podcast audio has been adapted for use within medical and specifically neurology education in the form of the Neurology Podcast since 2007. As podcasts were an initial step in the field of on-demand media, further technological evolution has resulted in increasing customization of a listener's audio experience. We believe a historical inflection point has been reached with the increasingly mainstream adoption of virtual assistant technology which allows for consumption of brief on-demand self-curated audio productions. As editors of the Neurology Podcast, we have introduced a new audio product to this technological landscape, the Neurology Minute. In doing so, we hope that curated on-demand educational audio will become a part of the daily routine of many practicing neurologists as we move into this new technological age.

The results of the analysis prove that the indirect contribution related to housework and outdoor work, can be done Akad al-Ijarah for the wife is eligible to take a certain wage according to the jumhur view. It relates to the limited amount that is still pending payment and is included in the matrimonial property. The study also found that indirect contributions related to outdoor work as well, can be done Akad Syarikat al-Abdan according to the view of the school of al-Hanafiyyah and can be associated with the amount of profits that grow and put into matrimonial property. In addition, the Islamic Family Law Enactment also does not specify in detail the conditions of property ownership as determined by Islamic law. This study suggests that a guideline can be translated into the minds of the Muslim community in Malaysia continuously to ensure that this polemic can be clarified and the benefits to be fought for can be maintained.

In the past few decades, there has been lot of focus on the issue of sustainability. This has occurred due to the growing concerns related to climate change and the growing awareness about environmental concerns. Also, the competition at global level has led to the search for the most sustainable route in the industries. The current research work deals with the selection of green supplier in a Nickle coating industry based on certain weighted green attributes. For this purpose, a hybrid tool comprising of Fuzzy AHP (Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy) and VIKOR (VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje) is used. The Fuzzy AHP is used for assigning proper weights to the selected criteria for supplier evaluation, while VIKOR is used for final supplier selection based on the weighted criteria. The three criterions for green supplier selection are, Ecological packaging, Corporate socio-environmental responsibility and Staff Training. The outcome of the integrated model may serve as a steppingstone to other SMEs in different sectors for selecting the most suitable supplier for addressing the sustainability issue.

The challenges of including factual information in public policy and political discussions are many. The difficulties of including scientific facts in these debates can often be frustrating for scientists, politicians and policymakers alike. At times it seems that discussions involve different languages or dialects such that it becomes a challenge to even understand one another’s position. Oftentimes difference of opinion leads to laws and regulations that are tilted to the left or the right. The collaborative balancing to insure public and natural resource interests are protected ends up being accomplished through extensive litigation in the courts. In this article, the author discusses the history of environmental balancing during the past three decades from the perspective of a field biologist who has used the strength of our policies, laws and regulations to fight for the protection of our Commonwealth’s aquatic resources. For the past 7 years, the author has taken over the reins of “the most powerful environmental agency in Pennsylvania” and charted a course using science to properly represent natural resource interests in public policy and political deliberations.
