The tribal status of Phlugidini Eichler, 1938, is confirmed. A new definition of the tribe is suggested and the taxonomic relationships among genera related to the tribe are discussed. Two new genera, nine new species and one new combination are described from East Africa, New Guinea, Northern Australia, Sulawesi and Borneo. These new taxa are Phlugidia africana Kevan, Tenuiphlugis Kevan, Tenuiphlugis gressitti (Chopard, 19691, comb. nov., T. maai Jin, T. brittoni Jin, T. malkini Jin, Phlugis sulawesi Jin, P. borneoensis Jin, P. burgersi Jin, P. novaeguineaensis Jin, P. rapax Jin and P. philippina Jin.*There is more than one system dealing with the higher classification of orthopteroid insects (for detail, see Jago 1977; Kevan 1977; Ragge 1977; Rentz 1977; Vickery 1977). Among them, Rentz (1979), Kevan (1982) and Vickery and Kevan (1986) are the major recent representatives of different opinions. The designation of the Phlugidini in this paper follows the system of Vickery and Kevan (1986).

Since the phylogenetic analysis of the Herrichella clade (Ochlerini) new genera were described to fit monophyletic groups inferred and considered to be new taxa. The clade I supported by two synapomorphies of the female genitalia, grouped Alitocoris brunneus Sailer together to two new species. Alloeogyna gen. nov. is described here for this clade including the two new species Alloeogyna ampla sp. nov. and Alloeogyna poecila sp. nov. and a new combination is proposed for Alloeogyna brunnea comb. nov.. Also, Alitocoris maculosus Sailer recovered within the clade E in the Herrichella clade is here redescribed in the monotypic Sailerus gen. nov. resulting in the new combination Sailerus maculosus comb. nov..

Recent tanaidacean material collected from Antarctic waters, primarily during the ANDEEP expeditions of 2002 and 2005, includes a number of new taxa attributable to the families Nototanaidae and Typhlotanaidae sensu Sieg. Analysis of this material has exposed a problem with the recent contention of the two families, and has revealed consistent morphological trends which support the distinction of these two families. In the present paper, examination of both museum specimens and newly-collected material, has allowed a re-analysis based on a series of detailed morphological observations, resulting in a new definition of the families Typhlotanaidae Sieg, 1984 with the establishment of five new genera (Hamatipeda n. gen., Larsenotanais n. gen., Pulcherella n. gen., Torquella n. gen., Typhlamia n. gen.), a the description of thirteen new species, the redescription of fifteen species, and the construction of keys for the determination of typhlotanaid genera and of the species of three newly-erected genera.

Two new genera, Semicarinata gen. nov., and Qinlingea gen. nov., are described from China, with description of one new species, S. colorata sp. nov., and one new combination, Q. brachystylata (Liu and Wang, 1998). Two species, i.e., Tamdaopteron major Gorochov, 2005, and Indogneta lata Ingrisch and Shishodia, 2000, as well as these two genera, are first records for China. We also gave additional descriptions about male stridulatory area of these two genera and the first female description of the species I. lata. A key to the genera with open tympana in China is provided.

Two species of Orussidae are described: Ophrynopus rufocephalus new species and Ophrynopus savinai new species. The new taxa are analyzed with an existing data set for the Orussidae of the world. The results of the analyses indicate that the generic classification within the ophrynopine clade needs to be adjusted. Argentophrynopus Vilhelmsen & D.R. Smith, 2002 new synonym and Ophrella Middlekauff, 1985 new synonym are treated as junior synonyms of Ophrynopus Konow, 1897. This results in the following additional taxonomic changes: Ophrynopus amazonicus (Westwood, 1874) combination reestablished, Ophrynopus eldorado (Vilhelmsen, 2013) new combination, Ophrynopus enigmus (Vilhelmsen & D.R. Smith, 2002) new combination, Ophrynopus gauldi (Vilhelmsen & D.R. Smith, 2002) new combination, Ophrynopus seagi (Vilhelmsen, 2016) new combination. Furthermore, Ophrynopus andrei Konow, 1897 new synonym is regarded as a junior synonym of Ophrynopus fulvostigma (Westwood, 1874). A revised key to Ophrynopus spp. is presented.

Pseudomonas is a large and diverse genus broadly distributed in nature. Its species play relevant roles in the biology of earth and living beings. Because of its ubiquity, the number of new species is continuously increasing although its taxonomic organization remains quite difficult to unravel. Nowadays the use of genomics is routinely employed for the analysis of bacterial systematics. In this work, we aimed to investigate the classification of species of the genus Pseudomonas on the basis of the analyses of the type strains whose genomes are currently available. Based on these analyses, we propose the creation of three new genera (Denitrificimonas gen nov. comb. nov., Neopseudomonas gen nov. comb. nov. and Parapseudomonas gen nov. comb. nov) to encompass several species currently included within the genus Pseudomonas and the reclassification of several species of this genus in already described taxa.

Resuming published and own data, a revision of classification of Chaetognatha is presented. The family Sagittidae Claus & Grobben, 1905 is given a rank of subclass, Sagittiones, characterised, in particular, by the presence of two pairs of sac-like gelatinous structures or two pairs of fins. Besides the order Aphragmophora Tokioka, 1965, it contains the new order Biphragmosagittiformes ord. nov., which is a unique group of Chaetognatha with an unusual combination of morphological characters: the transverse muscles present in both the trunk and the tail sections of the body; the seminal vesicles simple, without internal complex compartments; the presence of two pairs of lateral fins. The only family assigned to the new order, Biphragmosagittidae fam. nov., contains two genera. Diagnoses of the two new genera, Biphragmosagitta gen. nov. (type species B. tarasovi sp. nov. and B. angusticephala sp. nov.) and Biphragmofastigata gen. nov. (type species B. fastigata sp. nov.), detailed descriptions and pictures of the three new species are presented.

Abstract. Two new genera and eight new species of benthic foraminifera are described from the shallow water, tropical lagoon of Madang, Papua New Guinea. The new hauerinid genus Pseudolachlanella is characterized by juvenile cryptoquinqueloculine, adult almost massiline arranged chambers, and a slitlike, curved aperture with parallel sides and a long, slender, curved miliolid tooth. Pitella haigi n. gen., n. sp. is a new foraminifera with cryptoquinqueloculine arranged chambers, an almost entirely pitted shell surface (pseudopores) and a rounded aperture with a short simple tooth. Among the other species described as new are four hauerinids and two agglutinated foraminifera All new species described here occur sporadically in the shallow water back- and forereef environments of the lagoon (0–55m), and live infaunally and epifaunally in well-oxygenated, fine and coarse grained biogenic sediments. They are absent in muddy, organic-rich, low-oxygen sedimentary environments within bay inlets where variations of salinity are considerable.

Eight new taxa of Eriophyidae mites associated with native trees in the Cupania genus—C. oblongifolia Mart. and C. impressinervia Acev (Sapindaceae)—from the Atlantic Forest in Brazil, are described and illustrated. They include two new genera and two new species of Nothopodinae, Colopodacini (Setibia domatiagena   gen. nov., sp. nov. and Aricolopodos alagoensis gen. nov., sp. nov.), one new genus and two new species of Cecidophyinae, Colomerini (Euryslobos keronidos gen. nov., sp. nov. and Gammaphytoptus cupanius sp. nov.), and one new species of Phyllocoptinae, Tegonotini (Shevtchenkella caboata sp. nov.).

In preparation for upcoming studies, several new taxa of Australian Erotylinae (Coleoptera: Erotylidae) need to be described to make names available. New genera and species in Dacnini and Megalodacnini are described. Echinothallis banderbearella, new genus and species (Dacnini); Microdacne, new genus, with four new species (Dacnini), M. gloriousa, M. lamingtonia, M. nardia, M. styxia; and Episcaphula (Tropidoscaphula) megalodacnoides, new species (Megalodacnini). Variation of female terminalia and other characters in several genera are discussed regarding the monophyly and generic diversity of Dacnini.

This paper deals with the taxonomy of Chinese Medaurini with descriptions of two new genera, 14 new species and two new subspecies, proposal of two new combinations and report of two new records for China. A total of seven genera and 42 species are recognised in the tribe. Ten new species and two new subspecies from four recognised genera including Cnipsomorpha Hennemann, Conle, Zhang & Liu, 2008, Interphasma Chen & He, 2008, Medauroidea Zompro, 2000 and Parapachymorpha Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893 are described. They are Cnipsomorpha bii sp. nov., C. daliensis sp. nov., C. maoershanensis sp. nov., C. wenxuani sp. nov., Interphasma elongatum elongatum sp. nov. & subsp. nov., I. elongatum parvum subsp. nov., I. huanglianshanense sp. nov., Medauroidea chenshuchuni sp. nov., Parapachymorpha dentata sp. nov., P. jinpingensis sp. nov. and P. sinica sp. nov. Two new genera, Neointerphasma gen. nov. and Neosinophasma gen. nov., are established. The former only includes Neointerphasma minutigranulatum sp. nov. The latter includes four species, N. biangulatum (Chen & Zhang, 2008) comb. nov. [transferred from Cnipsomorpha], N. tangliangi sp. nov., N. wenxuani sp. nov. and N. yunnanense sp. nov. A new combination is also suggested for Medauroidea nyalamensis (Chen, Shang & Pei, 2000) comb. nov. transferred from Ramulus Saussure, 1862. Parapachymorpha spiniger (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907) and Medauromorpha foedata (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907) are new records for China. Taxonomic keys are given to Cnipsomorpha, Interphasma, Medauroidea, Medauromorpha, Neosinophasma gen. nov. and Parapachymorpha.
