A simple method for the preparation of tungsten(V1) oxide bromides is described. The magnetic properties of molybdenum oxide triohloride, molybdenum oxide tribromide, and molybdenum dioxide chloride over a wide temperature range are reported, together with infrared data.

New preparations of molybdenum oxide tetrachloride, MoOCl4; tungsten oxide tetrachloride, WOCl4; molybdenum oxide trichloride, MoOCl3; molybdenum dioxide dibromide, MoO2Br2; and molybdenum oxide tribromide, MoOBr3, have been developed. It has been shown that all previous preparations of molybdenum pentachloride apparently contained some oxide tetrachloride. The magnetic susceptibility of pure molybdenum pentachloride has been measured over a temperature range.

The magnetic properties of exchange-coupled Tb-Co/FeNi film structures obtained by magnetron sputtering were studied in a wide temperature range. It was shown that a decrease in the Zeeman energy when approaching the compensation temperature of the ferrimagnetic layer was accompanied by a change in the sequence of magnetization reversal of the layers. The efficiency of the interlayer exchange interaction varies with temperature very little.

Temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility has been studied for rare-earth borates NdCr3(BO3)4, SmCr3(BO3)4 and LuCr3(BO3)4 by the Faradey method in the wide temperature range (300-1200 K). The dependence for each phase follows the Curi - Weis law. The Curie temperatures, Neel temperatures and magnetic moments corresponding to the chemical formula of the crystals, have been found.
