Linear Trinuclear Copper(II) Complexes Derived from the Nucleophilic Addition Products of Dicyanonitrosomethanide [C(CN)2(NO)]–: Syntheses, Structures, and Magnetic Properties

Two novel trinuclear CuII complexes have been synthesised from the nucleophilic addition derivatives of the small cyano anion, dicyanonitrosomethanide (dcnm). The reaction of CuII with the water adduct ligand, carbamoylcyanonitrosomethanide (ccnm) and teaH3 (triethanolamine) in a basic MeOH/MeCN solution results in the formation of [Cu3(acnm)2(teaH2)2]·2MeOH (1) (acnm = amidocarbonyl(cyano)nitrosomethanide and teaH2– = singly deprotonated triethanolamine). The reaction of CuII with dicyanonitrosomethanide (dcnm) and m-xylenediamine in a basic MeOH/MeCN solution results in the formation of [Cu3(cimm)2(a3acnm)2]·6MeCN (2) (cimm = cyano(imido(methoxy)methyl)nitrosomethanide and a3acnm = {amino(3-aminomethylphenyl)methylimino}methyl(cyanonitrosomethanide)). Both complexes display linear trinuclear CuII metallic cores. Solid state DC magnetic susceptibility studies were performed on 1 and 2. Compound 1 revealed very strong antiferromagnetic interactions between central and terminal Cu atoms, while compound 2 displayed ferromagnetic interactions because of the orthogonal relationship of the terminal and the central ‘magnetic’ orbitals, which contrasts with these orbitals being coplanar in 1 thus providing strong superexchange pathways involving Cu-N-O-Cu moieties.

AbstractThis is a pioneering work on the synthesis of molybdenum diselenides intercalated by chromium atoms. Their magnetic properties are studied at various intercalant concentrations, temperatures, and magnetic fields. The temperature dependences of effective magnetic moments and positive paramagnetic Curie temperatures in the paramagnetic region evidence the feasible ferromagnetic interactions between intercalated atoms. The existence of low-temperature ferromagnetic state in Cr_ x МоSe_2 is confirmed by hysteresis phenomena in temperature and field dependences of magnetization and magnetic susceptibility.

AbstractA new complex [(CH3)3NH]2[Co(NCS)4], in which zero-dimensional [Co(NCS)4]n2− anions are balanced by 2n [(CH3)3NH]+ cations, was synthesized. The complex has been characterized by single X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and magnetic measurements. Magnetic susceptibility data indicate ferromagnetic interactions among the CoII ions.

Hydrothermal reactions of 4,4´-bipyridine, benzoic acid/p-methylbenzoic acid, Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O and NH4OH yielded [Ni(bpy)1.5(H2O)2(BA)2]·H2O (1) and [Ni(bpy)(HMBA)(MBA)2]n (2) (bpy = 4,4´-bipyridine, HBA = benzoic acid, HMBA = p-methylbenzoic acid). The Ni(II) ions of compound 1 are six-coordinated and bridged by 4,4´-bipyridine ligands to form a binuclear structure while complex 2 features polymeric chains which are connected by 4,4´-bipyridine molecules. Variabletemperature magnetic susceptibility measurements from 300 to 30 K showed the presence of weak ferromagnetic interactions between the Ni(II) (S = 1) ions via the 4,4´-bipyridine bridges.

The magnetic susceptibility measurements have been made on antiferromagnetic compounds Mn1–xFexSn2 and the magnetic phase diagram was illustrated. The high temperature magnetic phases I and III, major phases, were analyzed on the basis of molecular field theory and explained the change of magnetic structure I⇌III occured at x≈0.8.

Analysis of the weak interactions within the crystal structures of 33 complexes of various 4′-aromatic derivatives of 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine (tpy) shows that interactions that exceed dispersion are dominated, as expected, by cation⋯anion contacts but are associated with both ligand–ligand and ligand–solvent contacts, sometimes multicentred, in generally complicated arrays, probably largely determined by dispersion interactions between stacked aromatic units. With V(V) as the coordinating cation, there is evidence that the polarisation of the ligand results in an interaction exceeding dispersion at a carbon bound to nitrogen with oxygen or fluorine, an interaction unseen in the structures of M(II) (M = Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ru and Cd) complexes, except when 1,2,3-trimethoxyphenyl substituents are present in the 4′-tpy.

We report on the synthesis and physical properties of cm-sized CoGeO3 single crystals grown in a high pressure mirror furnace at pressures of 80 bar. Direction dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements on our single crystals reveal highly anisotropic magnetic properties that we attribute to the impact of strong single ion anisotropy appearing in this system with TN∼33.5 K. Furthermore, we observe effective magnetic moments that are exceeding the spin only values of the Co ions, which reveals the presence of sizable orbital moments in CoGeO3.

This article identifies and presents the generalized difference (g-difference) of fuzzy numbers, Fréchet and Gâteaux generalized differentiability (g-differentiability) for fuzzy multi-dimensional mapping which consists of a new concept, fuzzy g-(continuous linear) function; Moreover, the relationship between Fréchet and Gâteaux g-differentiability is studied and shown. The concepts of directional and partial g-differentiability are further framed and the relationship of which will the aforementioned concepts are also explored. Furthermore, characterization is pointed out for Fréchet and Gâteaux g-differentiability; based on level-set and through differentiability of endpoints real-valued functions a characterization is also offered and explored for directional and partial g-differentiability. The sufficient condition for Fréchet and Gâteaux g-differentiability, directional and partial g-differentiability based on level-set and through employing level-wise gH-differentiability (LgH-differentiability) is expressed. Finally, to illustrate the ability and reliability of the aforementioned concepts we have solved some application examples.

We report the magnetic properties of EuxCa1-xB6 single crystals (0.756x1) studied in the wide range of temperatures (1.8-300 K) and magnetic fields (up to 50 kOe). It was found that low field magnetic susceptibility χ (T) follows the Curie-Weiss law χ~(T-Θp)-1 at high temperatures for all the concentrations studied. The effective magnetic moment of the Eu2+ ion estimated from the data diminishes from the free ion value μeff7.93μB (μB - Bohr magneton) for x=1 to μeff7.3μB for x=0.756. A universal behavior of magnetic susceptibility χ~(T-Θ)-α (α=1.5) is detected close to the Curie temperature TC in the paramagnetic state at both metallic (x>xC~0.8) and dielectric (xC.
