In 1980, the Australian Journal of Biological Sciences published 67 research papers and three review articles in six issues in the following disciplines: biochemistry (23 papers), endocrinology and reproductive biology (15), genetics (10), physiology (9), microbiology (9) and cell physiology and ultrastructure (4). There has been an increase in biochemical and microbiological papers over the previous year.

Journal of Food Science and Technology Nepal (JFSTN) is one of the major publications of Nepal Food Scientists and Technologists (NEFOSTA). In the history of its 35 years (from 1984) of formation of NEFOSTA, JFSTN had begun to publish from twenty years (from 2005) and upto the present year of 2019; eleven issues of JFSTN (Volume 1, 2005 to Volume 11, 2019) have already been published and altogether 190 articles of different types (Review articles 39, Research papers 102,  Research notes 42,view point 1 and short communication 6) from 16 different  countries have been published in these eleven issues of JFSTN. This communication wishes to explore the information about the status, progress and significance as well as way forward for the publication of JFSTN with respect to the development of Food Science and Technology Sector in Nepal.

Internet of Things (IoT) appears to be a signature phrase in the field of Information technology. The term immensely strikes our lives. It becomes more recognized in recent years. Today we are experiencing technology called IoT which is revolutionizing almost every branch of activity. Internet of things envisaged as a network of billions of objects amenable to communicate with one another. The Internet of Things strives to a malgamate all the devices under one roof. These devices can be monitored and controlled at any moment. They can communicate, exchange information and perform the desired operations. Taking note of this, the paper addresses the IoT concept using analysis of research papers, corporate persuasive reports, scholarly review articles, and online databases. Furthermore, the paper comes up with an overview of IoT including definition, Genesis, the chronology of IoT, Obligations for IoT, Aliases, architecture and different technologies regularly used in IoT in a systematic approach. The paper also discusses the application areas of its and security concerns.
