Nowadays, security and gardening systems in densely populated residential areas are generally done manually. The security system in housing sometimes places security posts at street corners that are some distance from citizen’s homes thus they cannot be monitored at all times. Whereas other problem of watering system in citizen’s homes, someone has to water the plants one by one that it is not efficient in  energy, time and water availability thus that it can reduce the quality of the plants. Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept and method for remote control, monitoring, and various tasks. IoT is connected to a network that it can be accessed anywhere which can make things easier. IoT can be used to solve various problems. One of them is security issues and gardening activities. By using smart home technology, the security system is carried out by placing CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) which can be accessed by the home owner, anytime and anywhere the home owner is located. On the other hand, gardening is one of the most popular hobbies. In this field, IoT can be used to monitor and regulate various things to support gardening activities. In this community service activity, we are proposed a simple automatic gardening system for watering some plants programmatically in Pondok Hijau Indah residence. The system also allows manual human intervention either locally or remotely via the internet to control CCTV and water pumps. To build this smart Home system we will use the Xiaomi Home application from Google Play. In this application, we can set a program to control CCTV and water the plants every day at a certain time periodically, in this case, we set every 7 hours to watering the plants.

Internet of Things (IoT) allows real-world objects to be connected and managed through the internet. IoT is used to make any device smart and is thus a booming concept worldwide. Being a part of the era of the internet, it has become easier to experiment and develop new ideas. Many such ideas have been implemented, changing people’s lifestyles in general. Smart home technology is known to bring about more comfort and convenience at our homes. We have decided to stretch this concept out further to implement the concept of IoT into the security of our homes. The proposed model focuses on the security and ease of allowing access to the house. The leverage obtained by choosing this over other forms of home security is the ease of allowing access and monitoring our homes at any time and from anywhere. Our overall system is also focused on being made at a budget so that all sections of the society can experience this convenience and safety. In a world where technology is advancing at such a rapid rate, it is to be seen that everyone plays a part and stays up to date.

The number of human activities requires humans to be more productive. Nowadays, to support this, some human work has been assisted by digital technology, both office work, work done outside the room, or homework. The purpose of this research is to introduce to the public related to digital technology that is not widely known by the general public, especially Balinese people. This digital technology is called a Smart Home system based on the Internet of Things, a technology that can be applied to residential design. This system functions to assist the activities of residential users in various ways. This IoT-based Smart Home technology can be combined with several facilities in interior design such as lighting facilities, ventilation and complementary elements to form space. Iot allows users to manage most of these facilities through an application on a smart phone as long as the facility is connected to the internet. The development of technology is currently happening very quickly and has become a part of human life. One technology that has become an important part of human life is the application technology of an interactive smart home security system (smart house). This can overcome various problems that often occur in home security which were previously only controlled by manual systems and were prone to theft crimes. The purpose of this research is to develop an Arduino-based interactive smart home technology that works automatically by relying on sensors and without a wireless remote-control device such as a remote control based on an Android application. The research method used by the research team is the development of a prototype which includes smart home technology, home security devices, and automation of smart home devices which are realized by two-dimensional and three-dimensional engineering methods for house models in the form of electronic circuits, as well as home electrical and security plans. The development of this technology provides significant benefits, including making it easier for users of the interactive smart house feature, so that its use becomes more practical and efficient as well as disability friendly and all ages. Indonesia needs to keep moving forward in terms of technological development and innovation, especially in terms of home security and the manufacture of smart homes by utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) and applications on Android. Until later Indonesia can match up to the stage of surpassing the technological capabilities that have been applied in various developed countries and products can be patented into an Internet of Things (IoT) based security system.

In this paper, the design and application of smart wheelchair and charging station for disabled citizen is realized. The first stage of the paper is to make the wheelchair used by our disabled citizens able to access smart home technology via the vehicle via touch screen. The ability of citizens with disabilities to call with direct access via touch screen is also in the wheelchair designed. Thanks to the touch screen placed on the vehicle, disabled citizens are provided with the control of smart automation to control many objects such as curtains and doors in the home. In the second part of the paper, a solar powered charging station is designed and installed in order to charge battery powered wheelchairs. In the charging station made a special card reader system and has the charger to charge the card with disabilities to actively and means are provided.

The aim of this paper is to describe the new concept of a Master level university course for computer science students to address the issues of IoT and Smart Home Security. This concept is well suited for professional training for interested customers and allows the creation of practical exercises. The modular structure of the course contains lectures and exercises on the following topics: 1. Introduction - IoT and Smart Home Technology and Impact 2. Homematic Technology and Smart Home Applications 3. Loxone Technology and Smart Home Applications 4. Raspberry Pi and Smart Home Applications 5. Security of IoT and Smart Home Systems and contains laboratory exercises of diverse complexities.
