Abstract All the magnetoelectric properties of scheelite-type DyCrO4 are characterized by temperature- and field-dependent magnetization, specific heat, permittivity, electric polarization, and neutron diffraction measurements. Upon application of a magnetic field within ±3 T, the nonpolar collinear antiferromagnetic structure leads to a large linear magnetoelectric effect with a considerable coupling coefficient. An applied electric field can induce the converse linear magnetoelectric effect, realizing magnetic field control of ferroelectricity and electric field control of magnetism. Furthermore, a higher magnetic field (>3 T) can cause a metamagnetic transition from the initially collinear antiferromagnetic structure to a canted structure, generating a large ferromagnetic magnetization up to 7.0 μB f.u.−1. Moreover, the new spin structure can break the space inversion symmetry, yielding ferroelectric polarization, which leads to coupling of ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity with a large ferromagnetic component.

The main objective of the performed investigations was to enhance sensitivity of a current sensor to weak changes of magnetic field. New design of the sensor of current based on magnetoresistance effect – MRE (MRE = (RH - R0)/R0 , where RH is the resistance in magnetic field and R0 is the resistance without magnetic field) was developed. The sensor was produced in the form of an annular magnet with a gap, in which the (La0.7Sr0.3)0.8Мn1.2О3 manganite film possessing large negative MRE was inserted. Nominal current in a controllable electric circuit can change from a few tenths parts of ampere to a hundred of amperes. The limit detectable change of current value depends on the size of gap in the annular magnet. The operation time of sensor at current overload and short circuit is less than 0.3 sec. These magnetoresistors are thermally stable over the temperature range from (- 50 ° С) to (+ 50 ° С). Proposed sensors based on MRE can be applied in many electrical arrangements and devices.

The results of Mössbauer studies of the composition and magnetic structure of Fe3O4 / -Fe2O3 nanoparticles placed in an external magnetic field with a strength of 1.8 kOe, which is a continuation of the work [A.S. Kamzin, I.M. Obaidat, A.A. Valliulin, V.G. Semenov, I.A. Al-Omari. FTT No. 10/2020]. It is shown that the thickness of the maghemite (-Fe2O3) shell can be changed by the synthesis conditions. It was found that on the surface of the maghemite (-Fe2O3) shell in the Fe3O4 / -Fe2O3 nanocomposites there is a layer in which the magnetic moments are not oriented collinearly to the moments located in the depth of the shell, i.e., there is a canted spin structure. An intermediate layer in the spin-glass state is formed between the core and the shell. The data obtained on the structure of core / shell particles are important for understanding the properties of nanocomposites, which are of great interest for applications in various fields, including biomedicine.

Abstract In this paper, we present a Kane-Mele model in the presence of magnetic field and next nearest neighbors hopping amplitudes for investigations of the spin susceptibilities of Germanene layer.Green's function approach has been implemented to find the behavior of dynamical spin susceptibilities of Germanene layer within linear response theory and in the presence of magnetic field and spin-orbit coupling at finite temperature. Our results show the magnetic excitation mode for both longitudinal and transverse components of spin tends to higher frequencies with spin-orbit coupling strength. Moreover the frequency positions of sharp peaks in longitudinal dynamical spin susceptibility are not affected by variation of magnetic field while the peaks in transverse dynamical susceptibility moves to lower frequencies with magnetic field. The effects of electron doping on frequency behaviors of spin susceptibilities have been addressed in details. Finally the temperature dependence of static spin structure factors due to the effects of spin-orbit coupling, magnetic field and chemical potential has been studied.
