The comparative investigation results of AD33 aluminum alloy welded joint quality dependence upon changes in a laser beam motion rate for conditions of hand and automatic laser welding are shown. A micro-structure of a welded joint at the hand and automatic laser welding of the AD33 alloy is investigated.

AA6061 Aluminum alloy welded joint using two different filler metals were studied by using X-ray CT-Scan. The filler metals ER 4043 and ER 5356 were used in this present work in order to investigate the effect of using different filler metals on the welded joint quality of AA 6061 aluminum alloy in welded zone microstructure. Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) technique and V grove butt joint with four layers and five passes welded joint were performed. From this investigation, it is found that AA6061 with ER 4043 showed less distribution of porosity compared to AA6061 with ER 5356 welded joint confirmed by X-ray Ct-Scan. The decreasing of porosities and presence of very fine grains in weld region area with ER 5356 compared to ER 4043 will be discussed in term of microstructure analysis.

Effects of thermal cycling on the tensile strength of aluminum alloy welded joints are studied experimentally in this paper. The damage mechanisms are also analyzed based on the microstructure observations. Results reveal that certain thermal cycling can cause strength decrease especially at the heat affected zone of the aluminum alloy welded joint. The cyclic temperature and the external load are the key factors which influence the strength of the welded joint specimens, while the cyclic period has a minor effect in thermal cycling conditions. Microstructure analysis also shows that voids nucleation and evolution governs the damage process under thermal cycling condition.

The finite element simulation of tensile deformation of titanium-aluminum composite D20 - AD1 - VT6S was carried out. The composite had a wave profile of the welded joint at the boundaries D20 - AD1 and AD1 -VT6S. The thickness of the AD1 interlayer was varied in the simulation from 0.25 to 4 mm. The relative thickness of the interlayer corresponding to the onset of active deformation of the aluminum alloy has been determined.

The7A05 aluminum alloy of the 10mm thickness was welded by the friction stir welding. The microstructure and mechanical Properties of the welded joint was researched by the optical microscope, etc. The results showed: the microstructure of the weld nugget zone and the thermal mechanically affected zone were refined as the welding speed increasing when the rotate speed is constant. As the welding speed increasing the strength of extension of the welded joint is increasing at first and then stable basically. but the yield strength had no obvious change.
