The resonance type enhancements discovered recently near the γγ→VV′ reaction thresholds are discussed in detail. It is shown that the signal in the reaction γγ→ρω can be caused by the [Formula: see text] state production. The data on the reaction γγ→K*+K*− are explained by the charged K* Regge exchange. The partial-wave compositions are presented for the OPE and OKE mechanisms in the reactions γγ→ωω and [Formula: see text]. The reaction γγ→φρ is discussed. It is pointed out too that the enhancements in γγ→ρω, [Formula: see text], γγ→ωω in the region 1.8–2 GeV can be caused by the production of the radial excitations of the tensor mesons. The possible further strategy of the search for the [Formula: see text] states in γγ collisions and in the other reactions is discussed.

Diffractive processes possible to be measured at the LHC are listed and briefly discussed. This includes soft (elastic scattering, exclusive meson pair production, diffractive bremsstrahlung) and hard (single and double Pomeron exchange jets, y +jet, W/Z, jet-gap-jet, exclusive jets) processes as well as Beyond Standard Model phenomena (anomalous gauge couplings, magnetic monopoles).
