Aggregate-mortar interface transition zone is a major factor for mechanical properties and durability of materials. Owing to the distinctive features of interface transition zone, this study reviewed research methods, structure models, improving methods and the influence to mechanics and durability of concrete of this zone. We also analyzed various test methods which are referred to in this review and their applicability, and discussed the formation mechanism and improving approach for interface transition zone. Our investigation suggested further scientific test is necessary for researching mechanical property of the interface.

As the technology develops, digital image processing technology has become a necessarily new method for studying particle property and particle analysis. This method helps researchers to gain deeper understanding of microstructure and powder particle property. In the paper work, the characteristics of different ingredients of cement microscopic property are analyzed with the technology of SEM backscattered electron image. Based on experimental analysis, microstructure and all kinds of cement characteristic parameters are analyzed quantificationally. It is seen that this method in the paper effectively and comprehensively computers the microscopic characteristics parameter of powder.

Frost resistance of low antifreeze design level hydraulic concrete was studied with Climate Simulation System. Three temperature of -17°C, -20°C, -30°C were chosen as the inner low temperature of concrete specimen during freezing-thawing. The properties of mass, dynamic elastic modulus, flexural strength and compressive strength of low antifreeze design level hydraulic concrete under different low temperature were compared. And the microscopic property of low antifreeze design level hydraulic concrete was observed by environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM).
