AbstractThe resistive transition of a preferentially oriented thin film of Y2Ba4Cu8O16‐δ has been measured in fields up to 20 T oriented parallel to the c‐axis. The data can be analysed in terms of thermally activated flux flow and flux pinning due to dislocation lines. The analysis yields the upper critical field Bc2 which shows an unusual upward curvature at low temperatures. Furthermore an estimate can be made of the correlation length Lc of the flux line lattice in the field direction. Lc is found to be very small, however, remaining larger than the Cu02 plane distance.

We have studied the electrical resistivity as a function of temperature in Micro-bridges of YBa2Cu3O7-δ deposited by laser ablation on the SrTiO3 substrate face, around superconducting transition region in different magnetic fields. The activation energy U0 was determined and discussed using the Arrhenius relation. The irreversibility line Birr and the upper critical field Bc2were obtained using 10% and 90% criteria of the normal-state resistivity value from ρ (T) curves. A phase diagram of the studied sample is constructed showing the Tg glass line and a very broad vortex-liquid phase regime.

The anisotropic vortex dynamics and phase diagram are determined for a YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 single crystal with columnar defects oriented at ±7.5° relative to the crystalline c-axis. A second-order splayed-glass to vortex-liquid transition is manifested for magnetic fields nearly parallel to the columns via the critical scaling of vortex AC and DC transport properties. In contrast, for magnetic fields aligned close to the ab-plane, an XY-like vortex-glass transition prevails. For magnetic fields at intermediate angles, there is no evidence of any vortex phase transition, and the vortex dynamics is described in terms of the thermally activated flux flow model.

The magnetoresistance curves of Bi(2223) thick film were measured near T c with applied magnetic field parallel and perpendicular to the c axis ranging up to 0.12 T. The results show that thermally activated flux flow region does not exist very close to T c and magnetoresistive transition can be well described by a thermally activated flux flow process below 108.5 K and at lower magnetic field. The relation between applied magnetic field H and temperature T was found to fit with “irreversibility line.”
