AbstractBlackbody radiation inversion is a mathematical process for the determination of probability distribution of temperature from measured radiated power spectrum. In this paper a simple and stable blackbody radiation inversion is achieved by using an analytical function with three determinable parameters for temperature distribution. This inversion technique is used to invert the blackbody radiation field of the cosmic microwave background, the remnant radiation of the hot big bang, to infer the temperature distribution of the generating medium. The salient features of this distribution are investigated and analysis of this distribution predicts the presence of distortion in the cosmic microwave background spectrum.

The paper relates to the field of measuring technologies and deals with the enhancement of thermoconvective method when it is applied for the experimental determination of such hydrodynamics indicators as mass flow rate and velocity of flow by their indirect parameters - capacity of the heater and the temperatures obtained from two thermal sensors, provided that they are located on the hermetic piping system surface. The issue of determination of correction factor on heterogeneity of liquid temperature distribution in the pipe cross section depending on pipe diameter and fluid movement velocity was clarified. According to the results of numerical calculations, the dependencies of temperature gradient on the pipe surface and the correction factor on the heterogeneity of the temperature distribution along the pipe cross-section under the heater in the function of the velocity of flow in pipes of different diameters are plotted. These dependencies specify the thermal method of studying the fluid flow in the pipes, simplify the experiment conduction, are useful in processing of the obtained results and can be applied in measuring engineering.

The problem of consolidation of goods for the provider of logistic services, which is a third part that delivers goods from many suppliers to one business client in time horizon was analysed in this article. Every parcel has a fixed date of reception in the source and delivery schedule in a destination. In the age of highly developed economy, time pressure and costs, outsourcing is a condition necessary to improve the functioning of enterprises. New logistic chains, networks of terminals and intermodal connections are built every year to reduce the transport costs and improve the whole process. In this article, the authors presented the benefits resulting from consolidation of cargos in the road transport. Special emphasis was put on determination of the role of the transport costs reduction using the cargo consolidation services.

Increasing environmental awareness leads to the necessity for more efficient powertrains in the future. However, the development of new vehicle concepts generates a trend towards ever shorter development cycles. Therefore, new concepts must be tested and validated at an early stage in order to meet the increasing time pressure. This requires the determination of real driving data in fleet tests in order to generate realistic driving cycles, which correspond as closely as possible to the actual driving behavior of the applications use case. Within the scope of this paper, real driving data are analyzed and used to create a representative driving cycle. The resulting driving cycle based on real driving characteristics is then used to investigate the impact of application-based design for powertrains on the design of electric machines, by illustrating the difference between synthetic operating points and real driving data.
