Structural and vibrational-spectroscopic data of BiH3 have recently been reported for the first time. On the basis of these data the force constants, mean amplitudes of vibration and thermodynamic functions have been calculated. Some comparisons with the structurally related SbH3 molecule are made.

On the basis of the most recently reported spectroscopic data on vibrational modes in TeCl4 and structural parameters of TeCl4, an estimation of its main force constants complemented with the calculation of mean amplitudes of vibration in a wide temperature range have been performed. Also thermodynamic functions for the ideal gaseous state of the molecule calculated, using the statistical mechanics approach.

Abstract.Recent photometric and spectroscopic observations of the dwarf nova system Z Cha are discussed. Methods for constraining the system parameters are applied and the disc emissivity is deduced as a function of radius. Indications are found that the disc shrinks in size with increasing time after outburst.
